I've made some expensive mistakes on which Mac works for me. Please help with advice so I don't make another one. :-)

So - in 2021 I replaced my 2013 MacBook Pro with a 2021 M1 iMac with 16GB memory and 1TB of storage. I agonized over this decision. I had charts and spreadsheets and talking to other photographers and designers, etc. I made the decision and set up my beautiful, powder blue iMac. I liked it, and it was a huge performance upgrade 100% for sure.
I didn't like the lack of ports and all the things that ended up hanging off of it.
After a while though, I really felt I needed something portable. I was really hating the desktop and the lack of flexibility. So the I bought the smaller iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard. (iPad Pro because I have massive photo files and I thought I'd edit on the go using native storage) and also for design programs and drawing on procreate. That was probably overkill. I don't love editing on the iPad (I much prefer the full photoshop and Lightroom desktop programs), and I don't think I needed a pro for procreate. I really really tried to make the iPad work as a desktop replacement, but it isn't and it didn't work for me. (If anyone has advice on this, I'd love to hear!)
So then I bought a M3 13" MacBook Air, 16gb memory, 512gb storage. This became my go-to around the house, out in the world when needed device, but never for photo editing device. I reached for it 100% of the time for any to day stuff vs. my iPad Pro.
I now only use my iPad Pro for drawing, Lightroom photo editing on the go, and using it when I'm painting. I absolutely dread and hate to use my iMac. I adore my MacBook Air, but it doesn't handle my huge raw images, or photo processing, or the design programs I use.
So I decided to sell my iMac. Check - done.
Now I'm looking for advice on next steps. I'm going to get a MacBook Pro to replace my iMac. TBD when....I'm going to have a hub, an external drive, and a monitor (which I already have) so I only have to plug my laptop in to one cord when I use it at my desk. I am planning on keeping the iPad Pro b/c I do really love drawing on it.
So here is where I'm looking for advice.
* Do I trade in or sell my MacBook Air (bc who needs 2 laptops even though I really love it)?
* If I get a MacBook Pro Max with lots of memory and lots of storage do you think that would future proof me for a while so I don't have to get something new for a few years?
* Wait for a potential new announcement or just go with what is out there now?
* Go for a refurbished one?
* Other factors I should consider that I'm not thinking of?
I know I am fortunate to be able to buy and experiment this much. I work a full time job and 2 side gigs, and the side gigs have paid for all of this. BUT I don't want to keep up the really expensive and failed experiments.
Any advice is much appreciated. :-)

Menu Bar does not show all icons. I have several apps that require the menu bar for use but it's a 50/50 shot if they show up. (such as a better display)

Macbook Pro M4 Pro battery life?
https://redd.it/1n55yjq
by @macosmulti via @r2tBot
Hey guys! Recently I've bought a Macbook Pro M4 Pro 14" and started playing and working on it. I've immediately notice that the battery drain faster than I expected so I decided to run a little experiment. I played League Of Legends for 1 hour precisely and the battery went from 74% to 43%. Isn't it way too much? That means I can only play for 3 hours before having to charge my macbook. Is it possible the laptop have battery issue? I've downloaded Coconut battery and the temperature is around 35 degree celsius. What am i supposed to do? I have only few days left to decide either to keep it or to send it back.
Please help me guys!

My 47w Anker charger got too hot to touch while charging my MBP M2 16”, would the 70w Anker charger from apples website work better?

I do some light gaming with an 80% % CPU usage in activity monitor, the charger charges pretty slowly but it’s been getting the job done till now. A 70w sounds perfect but a 140w sounds overkill for what I do and would take an extra month to arrive here for some reason. I’m mostly concerned about the charger overheating again

Preferred 2010 Mac Pro SSD?

It seems some Sata III drives dont like to work in Mac Pro's (disappearing on reboot). I was wondering if you had a preferred model of drive, thats in current production, that you know will work in these flawlessly? Thanks.

Updated to Tahoe Public Beta, now I can't access my home server IPs locally
https://redd.it/1n5e29d
by @macosmulti via @r2tBot
I've upgraded my M2 MacBook Pro to Tahoe Beta, and now I can't browse to my local home server, which is on the same network (and I've always been able to browse to without issue). I can't ping them via terminal, but I can ping the gateway.
I've tried on Safari and Firefox. All other browsing is unaffected, it's just the devices on the internal network.
I've tried to "reset network settings" following this instruction: <https://www.lifewire.com/mac-reset-network-settings-8680125>\](https://www.lifewire.com/mac-reset-network-settings-8680125)
There haven’t been any changes to the server itself, and I can still access the server IPs from my phone on my home network.
Any ideas?
