the price of childbirth vs. the price of ruling as a woman Rhaenyra trading the battlefield of childbirth for the battlefield of war. women of Westeros either being forced to bleed or forced to draw blood.
"women are born with pain built in. It’s our physical destiny. period pains, sore boobs, childbirth. we carry it within ourselves throughout our lives."
ultimately what he felt was, "i don't want to die, i just want my mother." he felt very young and vulnerable in that moment and regretted his decision to go.

i read somewhere that rhaenyra’s sobs felt almost childlike because she was only sixteen, still a child herself, when she had him. in many ways, they grew up together. she didn’t just lose her son, she lost the friend she grew up with💔
i love watching emotionally intelligent women talk about the characters they played
Valerie Cooper, a UN official, on the genocide in Genosha (X-Men ’97):
you know, in Genosha, i felt a lot of things. pain, grief, admiration for those who fought despite the odds. but you know what the oddest thing was? no one seemed shocked or surprised. not even me. yes, i was scared, but really, i just had the most profound sense of deja vu. as if past, present, and future didn’t matter and never had, because we always end up in the same ugly place.

Every golden-haired child in the street puts on his gait, his aspect, his character, making her heart leap, like a deer. Some days, the streets are full of Hamnets.

Matty Healy during a 2019 interview with Brut:
“I just don’t know when i'm allowed to be offended. religious people are always allowed to be offended: ‘oh, we’re offended by this, i’m offended by that.’ i have to get up every day and read something abhorrent that’s happened in the name of religion and i never get a day, i never get a day where i'm allowed to be offended."
