PROTEST TODAY! A photo of a Brookhaven Fire Department truck draped in the Confederate flag emerged over the weekend. The Confederate flag is a deeply racist and disturbing symbol of a hate meant to terrorize communities. Our tax dollars on Long Island fund the fire department and the fire trucks. @younglongislandforjustice demands that the firefighter responsible for this hateful display be removed from the fire department immediately. Daniel Prude was in distress and needed mental help. He was killed by Rochester Police. 7 police officers have been suspended. Please call the Attorney General of NYS! 212-416-6576. There was a rally on her block yesterday demanding that the charges against her be increased.  Suffolk County Police @scpdhq showed up and began randomly grabbing and arresting protesters without letting them know what they were under arrest for. Suffolk Police even shoved a protesters in a wheelchair multiple times until he fell over. We demand that Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone @countyexecbellone and Suffolk County District Attorney Tim Sini investigate this matter immediately. • • • • • • Here is an account from a peaceful protester that was there yesterday and recorded video: #Repost @mellipede. THESE EVENTS HAPPENED ON LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK IN AUGUST 2020. I gathered most of this information from @teamstandwith on Twitter. These are the events that occurred that led up to the protest in Hauppauge yesterday (September 5, 2020). Troy Russell (9y) was scheduled to have a playdate with Toriano Jamison (12y) and his little brother Max (6y). Shannon Palmer hit Troy and Toriano, who were then thrusted 10 feet into the woods. SHE HIT THE BOYS AND DROVE AWAY. Max (6 YEARS OLD) ran to the closest neighbors house to get help. Troy has had 7 surgeries to date and is expected to have more. He sustained 3 broken ribs, a right broken elbow, and a broken left thumb. His left achilles heel broke straight through and his legs snapped in half from impact. He faces the possibility of right leg amputation. His medical team projects that it will be a year before he is able to walk again. He will be going through surgeries for the next 6 months. Toriano was treated in the hospital for gaping abdominal gashes, a concussion, and fractures within both hip bones. He has kidney, lung, and colon damage. He had a four hour surgery. He faces the possibility of never walking again. Update (9/3/2020): He is at home doing physical therapy with family and has a long journey of recovery ahead. SHANNON PALMER WAS RELEASED WITHOUT BAIL ON HER OWN RECOGNIZANCE. She has multiple DUI’s and was not tested for drugs or alcohol during the time of her arrest. The boys and their families begin another fight in court on September 15. WE NEED TO MAKE SURE SHANNON PALMER IS PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. PLEASE PLEASE DONATE TO THESE FAMILIES.
