Overthinking & Depression – The Islamic Cure

Depression has a name in Islam: hamm (distress) and huzn (sadness).

When Prophet Yaqub (AS) lost his son, he deeply grieved and wept until his eyes became white from sorrow.
His sadness was real and heavy, yet he never lost hope in Allah.
This shows us that Islam recognizes pain and does not deny human emotions.
The Prophet (PBUH) taught us a specific du’a: “O Allah, I am Your servant...
remove my distress and sadness, and replace it with joy.” He didn’t deny that Muslims feel this. He gave us words for when we have no words.

What modern psychology calls depression, Islam calls a trial of the heart.

Not weakness. Not shame. It has a name, a du’a, a response, and a cure.

As a Muslim, why should you not stay depressed?

Because you know exactly how short your life is. Let’s do the math:

From birth to 20 – you’re learning, studying, still figuring life out.
From 20 to 50 – that’s your peak. About 30 years.
That’s it.

After 50 – energy changes, priorities shift.

So in reality, you have roughly 30 strong years to live, to grow, to worship, to love, to build.

Now think:
every difficulty you face it will pass.
Time doesn’t stop for anyone.
Your sadness won’t last forever, just like your happiness didn’t last forever. Both are visitors.

Allah says in the Quran:

“Indeed, with hardship comes ease.” (94:6)
Not one ease – ease. Every difficulty carries relief.

The Prophet (PBUH) also said:

“Amazing is the affair of the believer.
All of it is good.
If something good happens, he is grateful – that is good for him. If something harmful happens, he is patient – that is good for him.”
(Sahih Muslim)

That means:
even your pain can be a source of reward. You don’t lose – you either gain or grow.

So why overthink?

Why drown in depression?

Make dua for yourself and trust Allah!

On the Day of Arafah, when asking Allah, make sure to ask Him to open your heart to continually making Dua and placing your trust in Him.

The people who turn to Allah in supplication are the ones who live closest to real faith. They’re not the ones who have everything figured out, but the ones who know to turn to Allah when they don’t have the answers. And because of that, they carry a kind of peace that’s hard to explain.

When their heart is wounded, they bring it to Allah. When sadness settles in, they sit with Him in quiet conversation. When they want something, need something, they lay it before Him without hesitation.

There’s something beautiful about a life lived that way, not because it’s free of pain, but because none of the pain is carried alone.

Qurbani isn’t just ritual. It’s a test of obedience and gratitude.

#EidAlAdha #Qurbani #DhulHijjah #Sunnah"
Eid al Adha is more than a celebration. It is a remembrance of the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his willingness to sacrifice what he loved for the sake of Allah (SWT).

As takbir fills the sky and hearts gather in gratitude, let us reflect on the timeless lessons from the journey of Ibrahim (AS):

Sabr — Patience in every trial
From building the kabah to leaving Hajar and Ismail in the desert, his journey was marked by enduring patience.

Tawakkul — Absolute trust in Allah
He placed complete reliance on Allah’s mercy, even in the most uncertain moments.

Tadhiyyah — Sacrifice for the sake of Allah
His willingness to sacrifice reminds us that true faith sometimes requires letting go of what we love most, trusting Allah’s wisdom above our own.

Ikhlas — Sincerity of intention
Every act of Ibrahim (AS) was solely for Allah, teaching us that worship and life itself must be rooted in pure intentions.

Tawheed — Upholding the Oneness of Allah
He rejected falsehood and rebuilt the kabah as a house devoted to the worship of One God.

Qurb — Seeking nearness to Allah
Through every hardship and act of worship, he drew closer to Allah reminding us that every sincere act can become a path back to Him.

Shukr — Gratitude in submission
He showed that obedience, even through difficulty, is a form of gratitude and faith.

Eid al Adha reminds us that true faith means surrendering to the will of Allah and carrying forward the legacy of sacrifice and devotion.

May this blessed Eid fill our hearts with peace and bring us closer to Allah in every step we take. Allahumma Ameen.

Eid Mubarak.

Loosing virginity before marriage has become kind of common. No I'm not talking about rape. That's totally a different topic. By this topic I mean girl and boy both of them willing to have haram sex. Astaghfirullah

After the haram sex most of the time the girl and boy act very innocent. They'll be like 'you know I didn't mean to do it but it just happened'.

Seriously? It just happened? Whom are trying to fool? It's obvious that you know what you were doing. It's not like you were unconscious and it all happened cuz of some sort of magic.

The truth this that you couldn't control your desire. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Said: “No man is alone with a woman but the Shaytan is the third one present.” You should be aware of it.

Just imagine your husband/wife had sex with other person. How would you feel? Doesn't it hurt? If yes then how could you do the same thing? How could you cheat your future husband/wife? Are you that heartless? Don't you fear Allah SWT?

It's too late I already had haram sex. What should I do? Regret and repent to Allah SWT before it's too late. Before the punishment comes to you. And don't do it again!

Note: Before marriage relationship is called Zina. It’s haram prohibited in Islam. A real man will offer you (halal) marriage Nikkah, A loser will offer you (haram) Zina. Don't be so stupid to choose a loser. Remember Allah SWT Always watching at you!

May Allah SWT forgive us, guide us and protect us from doing major and minor sins. Ameen 🤲

⚠️ *Beware of Innovations (Bidʿah) in ʿĀshūrāʾ*

Two misguided groups went astray on this day:

One group imitated the Jews and made it a festival of joy, beautifying, wearing kohl, and cooking special dishes.

Another group made it a day of mourning over the killing of al-Ḥusayn (may Allah be pleased with him), beating themselves, crying, and spreading false tales, thus combining ignorance, innovation, and division.

But *Ahl al-Sunnah remained firm, fasting as commanded by the Prophet ﷺ, avoiding innovation, and rejecting both excesses.*

Many acts are done by some ignorant people which have no evidence from the Qur'an and the Sunnah.

These acts include:

• _Celebrating this day as a festival._

• _Slapping one's face._

• _Tearing one's clothes._

• _Using swords and blood-shedding._

Indeed, *none of these acts have any authentic relevance to ʿĀshūrā.ʾ* Rather, they are *pure innovations and evil deeds.* The enemies of Islam use them to misrepresent Islam.

No acts of worship are authentically established for ʿĀshūrāʾ *except fasting.*

There is no sound evidence for special night prayers, kohl, perfume, bathing, giving gifts, extra spending on the family, or any other special rituals connected to this day.

All acts of worship are based on proof.

So fast this day with sincerity, revive the Sunnah, and *stay far from innovation.*

May Allah make us of those who preserve His sacred limits and follow His Messenger ﷺ in truth.

O Allah, grant us sincerity, protect us from innovation, and make us among those whose sins are forgiven by fasting this blessed day. آمين

Verse of the Day:

Uthmān b. `Affān (r) said, "I read the Quran cover to cover, and no verse gave me more optimism than this one:
{نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ}
'Inform My servants that I am truly the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful' [Ḥijr: 49]."

In this verse, Allah commands the Prophet ﷺ to proclaim to mankind this fact by using the word نَبِّئْ : 'Tell them!' He wants us to know! And He has chosen the most blessed human to inform us of this fact.

And He ascribes His servants to Himself with the word عِبَادِي : Allah is saying that these are *My* worshippers, so I shall take care of them. It is an honor for us to be described in this manner.

And He says: أَنِّي أَنَا . By this double emphasis via the pronoun repetition the indication is that He Himself, and He alone, can truly be characterized with these Attributes.

And His Names الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ are of the most common, and oft-cited, in the Quran. He is the Ghafūr, the one who protects us from the consequences of our own sins by covering up those sins and forgiving them, and He is Raḥīm, showering His Mercy and enveloping us in His Compassion.

We praise Allah for He is worthy of such praise, and ask Him for His forgiveness, and His mercy.

If you're a woman, please don't let a day pass by without reciting this du'a;

Ya Hafiz, Ya Ash - Shafi protect my fertility, preserve my womanhood, and safeguard my body from every disease, disorder, complication, and harm. Let every cell, organ, system, and every function of my body work according to Your perfect command.

Ya Allah, make my health a source of gratitude, worship, and closeness to You. Grant me complete well-being in my body, mind, heart, and soul.

Ya Allah, I entrust my body, health, future, and every part of my being to You, for You are the Best Protector and the Best Guardian. There is no cure except Your cure, no protection except Your protection, and no power except through You."

Your imaan will rise and fall. Your worship will have good days and difficult days.

Don't lose hope when you feel low.

Stay patient, stay consistent, and keep returning to Allah.

The path is not easy, but the destination is worth every struggle
So prepare for the meeting with Allah before your grave becomes your home.🥺
Let me tell you an incredible story about what happens when you forgive people. Please read this because it is a pure miracle and extremely beautiful.

There was a poor taxi driver in Damascus that mistakenly ran over a student studying medicine which unfortunately led to his death. Shaykh Muhammad 'Aywad and other scholars went to the boy's father who was a judge, and they asked him to forgive the poor taxi driver for killing his son, and they offered him blood money as a recompense. The father amazingly replied, 'By Allāh, I have forgiven him and I do not want a penny from him. Tomorrow, I shall go to the prison and take him out my self.' Then the father said, 'Shaykh 'Aywad, you came to my House and I shall NOT allow you to leave disappointed!' The taxi driver was hence forgiven.

Years later, this father became paralysed and ill so his family took him for a final visit to the Haram of Makkah. They held him up in a wooden stretcher and made Tawaf. Whilst he was being carried, he tearfully said, "O Allāh, Shaykh 'Aywad came to me asking for forgiveness for a man who killed my son and I said, 'I will not let you leave my house disappointed.' Today, I come to Your House with paralysis and ask that that You do not let me leave disappointed!' He didn't finish his du'a except he was granted shifa in his body. He didn't complete Tawaf except walking with complete cure! Everyone who saw him on that day broke down in tears. Forgive those who have wronged you and Wallahi, Allāh will show you miracles!'

People have become more self-centered. They don't try to understand the feelings, needs & problems of others. They're keen on satisfying their own needs, even by hurting others. Don't let up. Continue spreading values of honesty, sincerity, integrity & compassion.

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“Which life is better than the life of a person whose worries have all united and become one concern directed towards attaining the pleasure of Allāh, gathered the scattered feelings of his heart through the devotion to Allāh, whose intentions and thoughts were once divided- each scattered in a different valley- are now focused on Allāh.

So the remembrance of the Most Beloved, the love to Him and the longing to meet Him and the comfort in being near to him becomes overwhelming for him. His concern, intentions and objectives and the feelings of his heart revolve around all this.”
