Allah says in Surah Al Asr - “by time - mankind is in loss, except those who believe to righteous deeds, call the people to the truth and advise them with patience”.

Allah swears by time specifically here, to illustrate to us something important in our lives.

From the most important of actions is the prayer in the life of a Muslim - after the shahaadah.

The second pillar of Islam is the Salah; and it’s the only action obligated upon us five times per day.

If we look at the rest of the arkaan- none of them meet the number that the Salah has.

And these other actions - there can be a removal of it - for example someone who cannot faster he or she may pay expiation.

But the prayer is obligated always. Even if you fall asleep when you wake up. You need to make it up.
