Bengaluru-based AI start-up, Minus Zero, has launched India's first self-driving car, the 'zPod'. This revolutionary vehicle doesn't have a steering wheel, instead, it navigates through traffic using strategically placed high-resolution cameras.
CEO Gagandeep Reehal stated at the launch, "With true vision autonomy coming to the fore, one can make autonomous vehicles a reality, solving major pain points of the mobility paradigm."
Minus Zero, founded by Gagandeep Reehal and Gursimran Kalra in 2021, raised $1.7 million in seed funds from various investors including Chiratae Ventures, Snow Leopard Ventures, IIT Mandi, and other angel investors.
The company claims that the self-driving car can be scaled up to "Level 5" autonomy, the highest level of autonomy, indicating no human intervention is needed to operate it. Currently, the zPod is suitable for use within enclosed and controlled areas like large residential complexes or campuses.
Interestingly, the founders have no plans to build more cars. Instead, they aim to provide the tech to help OEMs improve their advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The zPod is a vehicle developed to showcase the autonomous vehicle technology developed by the company.

Google Bard, a rival to ChatGPT, has introduced a new feature that allows users to search the web for images.
Bard now includes images in its responses when it deems them helpful. For instance, if you ask for bar recommendations or an explanation of optical illusions, Bard might include relevant images in its response. You can also specifically request images in your queries.
All images come with a caption and a credit. Clicking on the credit takes you to the source webpage. This can be useful in understanding the relevance and context of the image.
Apart from embedding images in responses, Bard can also perform direct web searches for images, similar to Google's image search. You can ask Bard to show you images of specific things, and even specify the number of images you want. π
The images returned are generally of good quality and match the prompts well. You can be quite specific with your requests, and Bard will do its best to find a match. However, the accuracy of the results depends on how well the original images have been captioned and tagged. π·
Remember, AI tools are here to stay and they're only getting smarter!
