❗️ Breaking news: OpenAI former employee published a report with insights about the future of AI

Most importantly:

- AGI by 2027 is a reality;

- AGI is a key geopolitical resource right now. Forget about nuclear weapons - that's obsolete. Countries will do everything they can get AGI first, just as they once did with the atomic bomb;

- AGI would require a trillion-dollar computing cluster. Microsoft is already building a similar one for OpenAI;

- It will consume more electricity than the entire U.S. generates;

- The money for AGI will come from bigtech - Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon and Google are alreadt laying out $100 billion in spending per quarter just for AI;

- By 2030, $8 trillion dollars each year will be invested in AI;

- If by this point you think you have a delusion in front of you - you don't. Comparable spending and global change occurred during the Manhattan Project and the Industrial Revolution

❀️ Here’s a truly beneficial application of neural networks!

A neural network called AINU has been developed, capable of distinguishing cancer cells and detecting early stages of viral infections by analyzing high-resolution images of cell nuclei.

AINU uses an ultra-precise neural network to analyze images obtained through STORM microscopy, which provides "nano-resolution."

The AI can detect structural changes in cells as small as 20 nanometers, which is 5,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair.

AINU also identified the herpes virus just one hour after infection by observing changes in the DNA.

The neural network can also accurately identify stem cells, potentially speeding up their research without the need for animal testing.

Although clinical application may still be years away, breakthroughs in healthcare like AINU are accelerating.

Here we go! A neural network is now generating games!

Google researchers have developed GameNGen – an AI model capable of simulating the classic game DOOM in real time, generating more than 20 frames per second and creating visual effects that are almost indistinguishable from the original game.

The AI was trained on 900 million frames of gameplay data, resulting in playtesters receiving 3-second clips that closely resemble the actual game.

Running on a single TPU, GameNGen handles the 3D environment and fast pace of Doom without a game engine. Each frame is predicted by a diffusion model.

Could AI soon be capable of generating entire video games?

While we were asleep, Adobe introduced its video AI – Firefly Video πŸŽ₯

The quality is on par with Sora and surpasses Chinese AI models like Kling and Minimax. The realism is top-notch!

The video sequence can be generated both from a text prompt and an image.

Features like changing the viewing angle and camera movement have become commonplace. But Firefly still has surprises: check out the clip where a dandelion is examined through a magnifying glass. Can other AIs replicate that?

One of Firefly Video’s advantages is the ability to animate words.

There’s also a cool feature that lets you add generated effects (atmospheric elements like fire, smoke, dust particles, and water on a black or green background) to your original video directly in Premiere Pro and After Effects.

More details are available here, where you can also sign up for the waitlist.
