🇬🇧 It’s just me trying to understand from memes what’s happening in the world and what to expect (in psychotherapy I was told not to watch the news).

🤔Could you share some memes?

☀️"Пусть всегда будет солнце!" or "Солнечный круг"
🇬🇧 "May There Always Be Sunshine"

🔻It is a popular Soviet children's song created in 1962. The music was composed by Arkady Ostrovsky and the lyrics written by Lev Oshanin.

🔻The song expresses the yearning for lasting peace by millions of people, young and old. In war, the lyrics say, there are no winners. For our sake, and especially for our children's sake, we must achieve peace and remove the dark clouds that now cover the sun.

🔢 Иваново
     [ ivanono ]

🔻The city is first mentioned in 1561,[citation needed] when it was given to the Cherkassky princely family by Ivan IV.

🔻By the early 20th century, Ivanovo was competing with Łódź (also a part of the Russian Empire at that time) for the title of the primary textile production center of Europe. As the workers' living conditions were appalling, the strikes were frequent. One of these strikes (May 14-July 22, 1905) led to the first Russian revolution.

🔻Nowadays Ivanovo is considered to be the city of brides👰‍♂️ as there are way more women than men there.

🔻What to see in Ivanovo:

• Ivanovsky Printed Cotton Museum
• Sviato-Vvedensky monastery
• Museum of Soviet Car Industry
• Holy Dormition Monastery
• Ivanovo Museum of a Stone
• Temple of St. Seraphim of Sarov
• Transfiguration Cathedral

🤩Tри толстяка
  [ tree talstyaka ]
🇬🇧 The three fat men

🔻This book was written in 1924, by Yury Olesha and first published in 1928.

🔻It was the first revolutionary fairy tale in Soviet literature. The critical reaction at first was varied. V. Boichevsky in an article "How Stories For Children Should Not Be" saw it as a "sugarcoated" presentation of revolution. Anatoly Lunacharsky, however, saw in it "heart-felt apologetics by the artistic intelligentsia accepting the revolution".

🔻Konstantin Stanislavki and the Moscow Art Theatre premiered a dramatic version of the story in May 1930.

🔻A ballet version with music by V. Oransky was presented in 1935.

🔻It has also been turned into an opera (composer, V. Rubin, 1956), a film, cartoon movies, diafilm (filmstrip), several comic versions, several radio versions, and a computer game.

🔻There are even restaurants with this name in Russia!
