Zinaida Mikhailovna Tusnolobova-Marchenko is a symbol or wartime courage

πŸ”»Zinaida was a medic of the Red Army in the 849th Rifle Regiment during World War II. Over eight months on the front lines, a young woman bravely rescued 123 soldiers, carrying them from the battlefield, before suffering injuries herself.

πŸ”»After being attacked by a German soldier in Kursk, suffering from severe frostbite, and getting gangrenous wounds she became a quadruple amputee.

πŸ”»With her injuries forcing her to retire from the military she spoke on the radio and wrote an open letter to the soldiers of the 1st Baltic Front which received over 3,000 replies.

πŸ”»Following Zinaida's appeal in her open letter to the soldiers and workers, the slogan "For Zinaida Tusnolobova!" appeared on the sides of many Soviet tanks, planes, and guns.

πŸ”»She was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on 6 December 1957 and the Florence Nightingale Medal in 1965.

πŸ‘‹ΠŸΡ€ΠΈΠ²Π΅Ρ‚ΡΡ‚Π²ΡƒΡŽ!

Π‘Ρ€Π°Ρ‚ΡŒ πŸ†šοΈ Π’Π·ΡΡ‚ΡŒ

πŸ”»Both Π±Ρ€Π°Ρ‚ΡŒ and Π²Π·ΡΡ‚ΡŒ translate to to take in English, but they differ in aspect.

πŸ”’ Π‘Ρ€Π°Ρ‚ΡŒ
[brat']

πŸ”»It is imperfective. It describes the action of taking in progress or as a repeated/habitual action.

πŸ”»Think to be taking, to take (repeatedly), or to be in the process of taking.

πŸ”’ Π’Π·ΡΡ‚ΡŒ
[vzyat']

πŸ”»It is perfective. It describes the completed action of taking.

πŸ”»Π’Π·ΡΡ‚ΡŒ doesn't have forms of Present Tense, only Past and Future!

Example:
I take the book to work every day. (Habitual)

β€’ Π― взял эту ΠΊΠ½ΠΈΠ³Ρƒ Π½Π° Ρ€Π°Π±ΠΎΡ‚Ρƒ.
I took the book to work. (Completed action)

❓Which is correct (see the video episode):

A. НС ΠΌΠΎΠ³Ρƒ эту ΡˆΡ‚ΡƒΠΊΡƒ БРАВЬ Π² Ρ€ΡƒΠΊΠΈ.

Π‘. НС ΠΌΠΎΠ³Ρƒ эту ΡˆΡ‚ΡƒΠΊΡƒ Π’Π—Π―Π’Π¬ Π² Ρ€ΡƒΠΊΠΈ
.

πŸ— Correct answer: Π‘

A guy filmed a video of the "last AvtoVAZ warrior" (▢️a Lada Zhiguli) that was surprisingly fast.

"Where's my 1.4 turbo engine?! I'm going to cry in my Skoda," the video's author wrote.

Several years ago, a photograph of the Kexholm Regiment, taken in 1903 by an unknown photographer, circulated on the Internet.

πŸ”»The photo depicts over 1000 people. It's enormous, and each face is clearly visible.

πŸ”»The 42x94 cm print is matted and framed. Everything suggests that the photograph was printed using a contact process from a glass negative. It's highly likely that the camera capable of handling negatives of this size was either custom-built or made to a special order.

πŸ”»Unfortunately, we don't know the photographer's name or the exact location where the photograph was taken. We only know that the Kexholm Regiment was stationed in Warsaw, and the year of the photograph is 1903. The caption under the photograph states:

"The Leib-Guards Kexholm Regiment of the Austrian Emperor, founded in 1710 by Emperor Peter I. Since its founding, the regiment has participated in 20 wars, spending 50 years in active service, and has been to Sweden, Persia, Turkey, Germany, Denmark, England, Portugal, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Romania, and Bulgaria. In naval campaigns, it has been to the Atlantic Ocean, the Baltic, North, Mediterranean, Black, Marmara, and Caspian Seas."

πŸ“Ž Did the man (in the right upper corner, Pic 3) look familiar to you?

πŸˆβ€β¬› An Istanbul cat hid on a Russian ship and arrived in Novorossiysk. They named him Burak.

During the inspection of the FESCO vessel, the sailors heard someone meowing pitifully, but could not find the source of the sound. It turned out that the cat was locked in a sealed container that could not be opened until arrival. So, the sailors fed and watered the furry boy through a crack in the box.

The traveler was released in Russia, but the cat may be deported back to Turkey due to customs regulations.
