The State Bank building on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street is one of the most iconic landmarks in Nizhny Novgorod.
🔻This magnificent "терем" (traditional Russian palace) in the Old Russian style was built in 1913 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the State Bank of the Russian Empire and the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty.
🔻Inside, the bank impresses with its grandeur. The walls and ceilings are adorned with intricate patterns and narrative paintings, and each chandelier is a masterpiece in its own right. Every detail has been carefully considered.
🔻The ground floor of the building now houses the bank's offices, but in the past, it was home to the small credit and savings bank halls for ordinary customers. Wealthier clients were served on the second floor.
🔻The State Bank building on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya is definitely worth visiting!
