Doctor's Sausage

🔻In 1935, the Communist Party instructed the All-Union Research Institute of the Meat Industry to develop a sausage recipe for patients with somatic signs of long-term starvation for dietary (therapeutic) nutrition.

🔻The creators initially wanted to call it Stalinist, but decided that the leader might not appreciate it. Therefore, it was decided to name the sausage so to speak by its purpose – "Doctor's sausage."

🔻The recipe for Doctor's sausage according to GOST (Soviet State Standard): for 100 kg of sausage, the following ingredients are used:
☆High-quality beef with veins – 25 kg
☆Semi-fat pork with veins – 70 kg
☆Chicken eggs or egg yolk mix – 3 kg
☆Full-fat or skimmed cow milk powder – 2 kg
☆Spices

🔻In the 1970s and 1990s, due to meat shortages in the country, the quality of sausage declined, but now, on Russian shelves, there is delicious Doctor's sausage.

👋Доброе утро, товарищи!

Не за горами
[ni za ga-ra-mi]
SLT: not beyond the mountains

🔻Sounds epic, right? Like some grand adventure is just a few mountain ranges away. In reality, this phraseological unit means "just around the corner" or "very soon" and can be used as an adverb in a sentence.

Пятница не за горами, держитесь, товарищи!
[pyat-ni-tsa ni za ga-ra-mi]
🇬🇧
Friday is just around the corner, hang in there, comrades!

The Monastery Korennaya Pustyn in the Kursk Region and its Fluffy Inhabitants.

🔻In 1295, on the feast day of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, "a certain pious man" from the city of Rylsk, while working with his comrades in the forest, 27 versts from former Kursk; on the bank of the Tuskar River, found an icon lying at the roots of a large elm tree, its face turned to the ground. As soon as he lifted it, a spring of water opened up beneath the icon, which exists to this day.

🔻The icon was named Kursk after the name of the area, and Korennaya (Root) because it was found at the roots of a tree.

🔻Subsequently, a monastery cathedral church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary was built on this site.
