Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, an outstanding Russian painter
🔻Born in Elabuga on January 13, 1832. From the age of 12 he studied Arts. In 1857 he continued his studies at the Imperial Academy of Arts.
🔻In 1861, he went on a trip abroad and studied for a while in Munich, Zurich, Geneva, and Düsseldorf. There he became acquainted with the works of Benno, F. Adamov, F. Didé, and A. Calam. The trip lasted until 1866. By this time, Shishkin had already been awarded the title of Academician for his work in his homeland.
🔻It is known that the bears were painted not by Shishkin himself, but by his friend, the artist Savitsky, so Shishkin suggested that Savitsky sign the painting.
🔻Shishkin did not like praise and did not seek fame. His main interest was in art.
