👋Всем отличной пятницы, товарищи!

🔻How do prefixes change the meaning of the verb 'петь':

🔻This is the basic form of the verb, meaning to sing in general.

2. ЗАпеть (perf.)
[za-pet']
To start singing
🔻This means the beginning of the action.

Example:

She stood up and started singing a song.

3. Спеть (perf.)

🔻This is the perfective form, meaning the action is completed. Think of it as "to finish singing."

Example:

I finished singing the song.

4. ПРОпеть (perf.)
[pra-pet']
To sing through
🔻This means to sing something from beginning to end, often for a long time.

Example:
• Он пропел всю оперу.
He sang the whole opera.

5. ДОпеть (perf.)
[da-pet']
Тo finish singing
🔻This means to sing something until the end.

Example:
Я не допел песню до конца.
I didn't finish singing the song all the way through.

These amazing murals are located in one of the cities of Komi Republic.

🔻In this simple painting, the artist tells a story of ordinary, yet magical, everyday life. Here, the masculine and feminine principles unite, and from their love, a new living person emerges. Here, summer flows into winter, day into night, and the past flows into the future through the sacred moment of the present.

🔻The painting depicts local flora and fauna, as well as the Ural Mountains and the Pechora River, descending from the ridges of the Northern Urals into the plains of the taiga.

🔻The murals were created in 15 days.

🔻A "galactic toilet" has been opened near the oak alley, causing a wave of emotions on social media.

🔻The special feature of the stalls is that when you enter, they light up in bright colours, letting everyone know that someone's inside.

👋Доброе утро, товарищи! С понедельником всех!

🔻Reflexive verbs are used to indicate the concept of ‘self’, where the subject and the object are actually the same person.

🔻Reflexive verbs are always intransitive (have no object):
Кошка умывает (кого?) котёнка.
But
Котёнок умывается.

🔻Reflexive verbs are formed by adding -СЯ to the stem of a verb (or sometimes to a noun):
одевать (to dress)
одеваться (to dress oneself)
Or
нужда (a need)
нуждатьСЯ (to need)

🔻To form some reflexive verbs you need a prefix and -СЯ:

дышать (to breathe)
ОТдышатьСЯ (to catch one's breath)
Or
думать (to think)
ЗАдуматьСЯ (to be lost in thought)

🔻There are verbs that are only used in the reflexive form:

• нравиться (всем) - to be liked (by everyone)
гордиться - to be proud
• трудиться - to work hard
• распоряжаться - to manage
• оставаться - to stay
• надеяться - to hope
• улыбаться - to smile
• бороться - to fight
• кланяться - to bow
• ложиться - to lie down/go to bed

🇷🇺 Есть кот. И чем он жирнее, тем (он) милее.
А есть человек. И с ним такое не прокатит.

🇬🇧 There's a cat. And the fatter it gets, the cuter it is.
But there's a human. And that doesn't work with him.

🗝
Чем (+comparative жирнее), тем (+comparative милее) = The (fatter), the (cuter).
прокатить (с...) = to work (with...)
