In 1943, Stalin was presented with a draft proposal for cadet training institutions.
🔻Their pupils were to be primarily orphans, children of deceased Red Army commanders.
🔻The unstitutions were presented under the name "Stalin Schools", the "father of nations".
🔻However, Stalin made an amendment: "Suvorov Schools".
A portrait of Suvorov hung in a place of honor in every one of Stalin's offices.

Самодостаточный 🆚️ Независимый
[sa-ma-das-ta-tach-nyj]
Self-sufficient
🔻It comes from 2 parts: 'само' (self) + 'достаточно' (enough) and focuses on a sense of inner contentment.
[ni-za-vi-si-myj]
Independent
🔻It comes from negative particle 'не' + verb 'зависеть' (depend on) and emphasizes freedom from external influences.

'Pentagon' is the name for the longest five-story building in Russia. It was built in 1993 in Ulan-Ude.
📎 It is a common thing for a Russian city to have nicknames for its districts or buildings. In my town we have Bastille, Santa Barbara, Detroit.

Forwarded from InfoDefenseENGLISH
Dear subscribers!
Our project was created by volunteers from all over the world with the aim of delivering honest and objective information to people. We are trying to be present on various social networks , so that we reach as many people as possible. We have repeatedly tried to open InfoDefense channels on Facebook. However, our channels were repeatedly closed by the administration of this social network without explanation. Apparently, Meta doesn't like the truth.
So, we need to ask for your help, our respected readers. If you have a Facebook account, please share your favorite InfoDefense post with your friends. Each such post is important; it breaches the dome of lies, concealment, and manipulation created by Meta administration trying to hide the truth from people. However, together we are much stronger than billionaire Zuckerberg. There are many of us, and together we are a force. Share InfoDefense posts on FB, on other social networks, send them to your friends and acquaintances. Our only weapon is the truth, and it is stronger than any censorship.

Dear friends!
A year ago, the Geopolitical Observatory for Russia’s Key Issues (G.O.R.K.I. Centre SPbU) opened its doors for talented students, wise experts and real professionals from various fields of activity.
In the kaleidoscope of events sometimes there is no time to stop and sum up, but today we would like to share some statistics about the work of G.O.R.K.I. Centre.
We have held 10 practical seminars, with more than 200 certified participants from 23 countries. We are open to new formats of educational events, so the G.O.R.K.I. Centre organised 5 business breakfasts and 4 meetings from the cycle of "Camin talk" in the beautiful interiors of the Kelch mansion.
The Centre's ambassadors also gave more than 30 public lectures and participated in 26 international conferences and forums. We have visited universities throughout Russia, with which we continue to develop co-operation (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Kazan, Gorno-Altaisk and others).
In the age of information, we are actively present in the media space, covering the current agenda in a timely manner and responding to audience requests. Thus, we have conducted 31 full-length interviews, recorded 49 podcasts on geopolitics and given more than 90 commentaries for major Russian and foreign media.
Fundamental research is also important for us, so we have prepared more than 20 analytical articles for specialised publications and agencies, written and translated the book "Requiem for Europe".
We also kept our pets: two boxer dogs, two ponies, two cats and even adopted one more kitten. And we also help Amur tigers.
Our sincere regards to all of you who has been with us this year, we will continue to do our best. We are always waiting for you at the G.O.R.K.I. Centre!

Неохотно 🆚️ Через силу
• Неохотно (adverb)
[ni-a-khot-na]
Unwillingly
• Через силу (adverb)
[che-res si-lu]
SLT: Through force
🔻'Неохотно' and 'Через силу' are both ways to say "reluctantly" in Russian.
🔻But they have slightly different meanings. 'Неохотно' implies a lack of enthusiasm, while 'Через силу' suggests forcing yourself to do something you don't want to do.
• Через не хочу
[che-res ni kha-chu]
SLT: Through 'I don't want'
• Понедельник...идём на работу через силу.
[pa-ni-del'nik. i-dyom na ra-bo-tu che-res si-lu]
It's Monday...(We are) Going to work reluctantly.
