🔻September 1st, or Knowledge Day marks the beginning of the school year in Russia.

🔻Students bring bouquets of flowers to their teachers as a gesture of respect and appreciation.

🔻Schools hold a special assembly called 'Линейка' where students, teachers, and parents gather. It's a time for speeches, songs, and poems celebrating the start of the new school year.

🔻The first lesson of the school year is traditionally Урок Мира (Peace Lesson), emphasizes the importance of peace, understanding, and respect.

🔻Starting September 1st, 2024, a new subject called "Fundamentals of Safety and Homeland Defense" (Основы безопасности и защита Родины) will replace the traditional "Fundamentals of Life Safety" (ОБЖ) lesson. This new subject will focus on national security and patriotism.

📎The celebration takes place on the 2nd of September this year (as September 1 is a day off).
