SLT: To create deeds

🔻It's a colloquial expression often used to describe someone who got into trouble or caused problems. 

🔻It's similar to the English expressions "to make a mess", "to screw up" or "to get into a lot of trouble."

🔻The phrase is often used in a humorous or ironic way.

• Посмотрите на него! Натворил делов и сидит довольный!
[pa-sma-tri-ti na ni-vo. na-tva-ril di-lof i si-dit da-vol'-nyj]
Look at him! He's made a mess and is sitting happy!

1. Ругать (imperf.asp.)
[ru-gat']
To scold, criticize someone

2. Поругать (perf.asp.)
[pа-ru-gat']
To spend some time scolding
(mildly) someone.
🔻Prefix ПО- indicates an action limited in time.

3. Отругать (perf.asp.)
[at-ru-gat']
🔻Prefix ОТ- gives it a complete meaning and more negative connotation compared to simply “поругать”.

4. Наругать (perf.asp.)
[na-ru-gat']
❌ This form is grammatically incorrect, used in informal speech, particularly by children or uneducated people.

🔻The actions of these verbs are aimed at 1 object (ругать/поругать/отругать кого? whom?).

❗But:
• Ругаться (imper.asp.)
[ru-ga-tsa]
=
• Поругаться (perf.asp.)
[pa-ru-ga-tsa]
To quarrel, argue

• Выругаться (perf.asp.)
[vy-ru-ga-tsa]
To swear, rap out an oath

🔻September 1st, or Knowledge Day marks the beginning of the school year in Russia.

🔻Students bring bouquets of flowers to their teachers as a gesture of respect and appreciation.

🔻Schools hold a special assembly called 'Линейка' where students, teachers, and parents gather. It's a time for speeches, songs, and poems celebrating the start of the new school year.

🔻The first lesson of the school year is traditionally Урок Мира (Peace Lesson), emphasizes the importance of peace, understanding, and respect.

🔻Starting September 1st, 2024, a new subject called "Fundamentals of Safety and Homeland Defense" (Основы безопасности и защита Родины) will replace the traditional "Fundamentals of Life Safety" (ОБЖ) lesson. This new subject will focus on national security and patriotism.

📎The celebration takes place on the 2nd of September this year (as September 1 is a day off).
