In 1974, a German Shepherd named Пальма (Palma) was left behind at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. Her owner, needing a veterinary certificate, left to Norilsk without her.
🔻Palma, faithful and heartbroken, waited for her owner at the airport for almost two years! She'd run towards every Il-18 that landed, hoping it was her beloved human. Airport staff tried to comfort her, feeding her and giving her a new name.
🔻Despite their efforts, Palma suffered in the cold, the heat, and even fights with stray dogs.
🔻Her ordeal touched the heart of a pilot, Vyacheslav, who published her story in "Komsomolskaya Pravda".
🔻The owner eventually wrote back, claiming to be busy. But he never expressed a desire to take her back.
🔻Palma found a new home with Vera, a university lecturer. It took time to gain the dog's trust, but eventually, Palma was taken to Vera's apartment.
🔻Palma first struggled to adapt but settled down, giving birth to puppies and living happily with Vera until her death.

Where to?
• Вверх
[vverkh]
• Наверх
[na-verjh]
🔻In Russian, the prepositions 'вверх' (up), 'наверх' (upstairs) are often used interchangeably, but there are subtle differences in meaning:
1. 'Вверх' refers to general upward movement, without a specific endpoint. It's like saying 'up' in English.
2. 'Наверх' is used when referring to moving to a higher level within a defined space, like a building. Think of it as similar to "upstairs" in English.
🔻Both prepositions come from the noun 'верх' (top).
❓ Котейка (на видео) поднимается наверх или вверх?

🔻“The Journey of an Ant” is a Soviet hand-drawn animated film directed by Eduard Nazarov, who also wrote the script for this cartoon based on the fairy tale by Vitaly Bianki “How the Ant Hurried Home.”
🔻The cartoon was released by the Soyuzmultfilm studio in 1983.
The ant, who had climbed a birch tree, was carried away by the wind far from home. With a broken leg, he risked not making it back before sunset. Along the way, he saved a flea from an antlion, got a ride from various insects, but each time his journey was interrupted by unpleasant incidents. In the end, after a series of incredible events, including falling into a lake and biting a toad, the ant made it home, managing to squeeze into the last open entrance before sunset.
🔻This cartoon (Russian+Russian subtitles) is for A1+/A2 students and is definitely worth watching for everyone learning Russian!
