⬆️ This is an official active fund, whose Vice President is still Russell Texas Bentley https://t.me/TXDPR, as there is no official confirmation of his death yet. And in the future, the fund will continue its work for sure.
🔻The website collects donations ONLY for the civilian people of Donbass, the victims of the war.
🔻There are 4 donation options on the website that people living in different countries (the USA, Europe etc) can make.
🔻On the website in the REPORTS section, you can see everyone whom the volunteers are helping. First of all, with the blessing of the priest - these are children and the elderly.
🔻People from Russia and Belarus could also make donations to Russell Texas Bentley's card (see Ludmila Bentley's post here: https://t.me/TXDPR/13902?single.
❗Even a small sum of money (just the cost of a cup of coffee) can help those who need our help right now! Let's do it together!🙏

• Икать (imperf.)
[ikat']
To hiccup
• Икота (икоты) (femin.noun)
[i-ko-ta]
Hiccup(s)
🔻Interestingly, there's a Russian proverb which is a playful way of trying to stop hiccup by transferring it to someone else:
• Икота, икота, перейди на Федота, с Федота на Якова, с Якова на всякого.
[i-kо-ta, i-kо-ta, pi-riy-di na Fi-dо-ta, s Fi-dо-ta na Ya-ka-va, s Ya-ka-va na fsya-ka-va]
🇬🇧 SLT: Hiccup, hiccup, go to Fedot, from Fedot to Yakov, from Yakov to anyone.

Операция 'Белуха'
🔻In December 1984, 3,000 beluga whales were spotted in the Chukchi Peninsula’s waters. The whales were left in their small breathing pools, waiting for a miracle to break the ice and free them.
🔻When locals heard about the whales, they quickly came to help by feeding them frozen fish and digging the ice to let them breathe. But the winter is harsh in North-Eastern Russia, and the whales would soon die under the thick ice pack.
🔻In February 1985, the authorities called Moskva (a fierce Russian ice breaker) for help.
🔻However, when Moskva and its crew finally reached the whales, they were afraid of the giant ship and refused to follow it in the canal.
🔻What happened next sounds unreal! One person on the vessel recalled that marine mammals react to music. After multiple experiments, the belugas reacted to classical music and followed the icebreaker.
🔻The operation took 2 weeks and cost $200K.

День Дачника!
[den' dach-ni-ka]
Dacha Owner's Day!
🔻Дача [da-cha] (dacha) is a Russian suburban country house with a small garden where city dwellers have their leisure time and do gardening. It's not just a 'house in the village'! It's much closer to the family estate in miniature.
🔻The word 'дача' comes from the word 'давать' (to give). This name stuck in the 18th century, when Peter I decided that it was convenient to keep officials near the new capital, and began to give them nearby land plots near St. Petersburg.
🔻The usual meaning of a country house, adapted for living in the summer, appeared later, in the 19th century.
😉 Don't forget to congratulate your Russian friends on this day!

🐋 Cool news from our Sakhalin related to the World Whale and Dolphin Dаy - there the developer of unmanned boats was able to establish contact with killer whales using a marine drone that will help lead killer whales away from fishing vessels.
The programmer integrated a speaker with a recording of killer whale sounds into a surface drone and led a whole pod of whales in the Sea of Okhotsk. The tests took place as part of the educational intensive “Archipelago 2024”.

• Кушать подано! Садитесь жрать, пожалуйста! (
