👋Доброе утро, товарищи! Как вы?

Селфи (unchangeable)
  [sel-fi]
  Selfie (a self-portrait)

Also:
Делать селфи
  [de-lat' sel-fi]
  To take a selfie

🔻'Cелфи' is a borrowed word, but did you know that there is a humorous Russian word for it?

Себяшка (себяшки)
  [si-byash-ka (si-byash-ki)]

🔻It comes from a reflexive pronoun: СЕБЯ (myself, himself, herself, yourself) as you take a picture of yourself:

Some grammar forms for those who like not only memes and cat videos on RCR:

🔵Accus.: винить СЕБЯ (to blame oneself)
🔵Dat.: дать СЕБЕ время (to give time to oneself)
🔵Instr.: гордиться СОБОЙ (to be proud of oneself)
🔵Prep.: рассказывать o СЕБЕ (to tell about oneself)

А Вы часто делаете селфи? Расскажите, a лучше покажите!

🔵Admit it, when you hear "Варенье из сосновых шишек" (pine cone jam), you probably imagine a bleak picture of Russia's crumbling economy with its people resorting to foraging for pine cones for sustenance.

🔵You've already heard of "кротовуха" (a strong alcohol infusion made with mole) and "медвежжуха" (a modern take on "медовуха" - an ancient, low-alcohol beverage). And somewhere in the back of your mind, there's also a vague notion of 'Суп с котом' (а cat soup). Now, pine cone jam!

🔵For those of you planning a trip or even a move to Russia, it might be time to reconsider.

🔵Just kidding! Come on over! Tasting this unusual jam is not a mandatory requirement for getting a tourist visa or a residence permit. Unless, of course, you want to try this delightful treat yourself!

🔵So, this jam made from young (green) pine cones is not only incredibly sweet with a refined smoky aroma and flavour (I can say that as someone who has eaten more than one jar of this jam!), but it's also packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

🔵If you don't have a set of "spare jaws" for chewing hard things, don't worry - the pine cones in the jam are actually soft and easily break apart with a fork.

🔵The only downside to this jam, from my humble perspective, is its overly sweet taste. But with ice cream or pancakes, it's absolutely delicious!

🔵I've seen this jam sold in foreign online stores (like RussianfoodUSA or Amazon). Don't miss out on the chance to get to know Russian cuisine better and embrace the Russian spirit!

Would you give it a try? Please vote👍/👎👇.

Русские не сдаются!
[ru-ski-ye ni zda-yu-tsa]
Russians don’t give up/ don't surrender!

🔻This is a catchphrase that was one of the combined arms slogans of the Russian army, dating back to the end of the 18th century.

🔻The phrase became most famous in connection with the defense of the Osowiec fortress in the First World War.

🔻On the Internet the catchphrase is sometimes used in relation to courage and inner strength of people not even of Russian nationality.

Влипнуть (perf.)
SLT: To stick, to get stuck

Meaning:
To get into trouble or an unpleasant situation

Origin:
The word originates from the original meaning of the verb 'влипать'(imperf.) which describes the action of something becoming firmly attached to another object, often unexpectedly. This imagery perfectly captures the essence of 'влипнуть' - getting into a situation you didn't plan for and finding it difficult to escape.

Synonyn:
Вляпаться (в ..+ accus.) (perf.)
  [vlya-pa-tsa (v...)]
SLT: to step, to plunge (into something dirty)

Example (see the video):
Вот я влип (влипла)! (masc./femin.)
[vot ya vlip (vlip-la)]
🇬🇧 I've got into trouble!

PS Mind that 'Залипать' and 'Влипнуть' do NOT have the same meaning!

Пароль [pa-rol'] a password
Король [ka-rol'] a king

Can you accept the challenge?
