🔻Russian is an Eastern Slavonic language closely related to Ukrainian and Belorussian with about 277 million speakers in Russia and 30 other countries.
🔻With the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union on 1 January 2007, Cyrillic became the third official script of the European Union, following the Latin and Greek alphabets.
🔻The Early Cyrillic alphabet was developed during the 9th century AD in order to translate the Bible and other Christian texts into the Slavic languages by the two Byzantine brothers Cyril and Methodius, who had previously created the Glagolitic script.

🔻In 1998, then Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov proposed to officially locate the residence Grandfather Frost, a legendary figure similar to Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas or Santa Claus who has his roots in Slavic pagan mythology, in Veliky Ustyug.
🔻The residence, which is a resort promoted as the Votchina "estate" of Ded Moroz, is a major tourist attraction which includes:
• Father Frost's house
• hotel guest complex
• cottage village "Russian Village"
• sports facilities (including swimming pool and sauna)
• restaurants and cafes
• Children's hotel
• children's playground
• slide attractions
• gift shops
• zoo and winter garden
🔻There is a dedicated post office there that answers children's mail to Ded Moroz.
🔻Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin visited the residence in 2008.
