• В рот мне ноги!
(colloquial)
[ v rot mnye nogi ]
SLT: Into mouth (put) my
legs
Meaning:
This is an interjection of strong surprise, similar to 'Ёшкин кот!'
🔻First it was used in 2008 by Andrei Bocharov during the dubbing (voice-over-translation) of the parody video clips “Street Magic of David Blaine” (third part, 0:54; in stead of the phrase “What the f*ck!”).
🔻Surprisingly, but in English there is a similar expression with a different meaning: 'put your foot in your mouth' which means to say or do something that you should not have, especially something that embarrasses someone else.
❗Please mind the difference in the meaning!
• В рот мне ноги! Да у тебя же талант!
[ v rot mnye nogi. da u tibya zhi talant ]
🇬🇧 Holy cow! You are talented!
