The government getting rid of Non-Crime Hate Incidents is a good thing but it’s not even remotely close to where they should be and it’s actually really annoyed me that they’ve suggested it when they clearly don’t care about freedom of speech. Instead of pretending they do, they should be scrapping all speech laws and apologising to anybody whose life they ruined because of words. What’s the point of saying they’ll no longer be recording “legal speech”, when they can take your legal speech and convict you for your intentions behind it anyway? It means nothing.

So Axel Rudakubana’s parents didn’t report him despite him amassing a stash of deadly weapons including the biological toxin ricin, because they didn’t want him to be taken into care.

No criminal charges will be brought against them. Criminal charges should be the least of their worries. They should be deported back to Rwanda with the rest of their family.

Axel Rudakubana was referred to Prevent three times but each time they closed the case because he didn’t have a clear ideology.

Translation: they are more interested in conducting weekly meetings for 14 months with a man who published legal stickers than they are in stopping actual extremism and child murder.

Prevent should be finished after this. They should be referred to as a shamed or failed organisation. Every time they are brought up, this case should be mentioned and they should be immediately discredited.

Just on the topic of Prevent, mine and Sam’s oldest daughter turns 5 this year so education and school is something we’ve been looking into and discussing lately. The other night we had a look at all the high schools near us, and they all report that every single member of staff has been trained by Prevent. No way are we sending our children to be taught by people who think their parents are extremists. Imagine me and Sam walking into school the first day and their teacher has just had a PowerPoint presentation on Hundred-Handers and PA 🙃
