Almost hit the first goal
Mission accomplished. All electronics installed in DLX/R models, save one that needs additional work. Everything is tested and performs properly.
DLX/Rs took longer than expected

What was done?

- finished rumble motor/DC jack/potentiometer install on 5 out of 6 DLX/R
-installed main backup capacitors for 5x DLX/R
-Assembled all 3D printed parts
-modified 5 red dot sights for DC power, just need epoxy
TODAY 05.22.22

Stolt and I explored North Park, an abandoned cement factory, and the Seldom Seen Greenway as options for battlefields.

The only place that’s sort of viable is the Pigeon Shelter at North Park, given its even terrain and large-trunked trees. It would be fine for an initial meetup and game.

We are looking for ideas. It’s clear that the play location is the most challenging part, but there absolutely has to be somewhere just perfect for this. Grind your brains if you can
Location spotlight:

Dead Man’s Hollow, located in McKeesport, contains the ruins of an old clay pipe factory. Being on public land, this may offer the perfect battlefield for our purposes. If anyone would like to go check it out soon, let me know.

Dead Man’s Hollow is beautiful and is accessible from the bike trail, so it’s even possible to ride your bike from Pittsburgh to the hollow.
UPDATE 05.27.22

I’ve stalled a bit over the past 48 hours because of issues + family emergency, but everything is fine.

To-do: finish conversion one one final DLX/R, finish all the red dot sights, rumblepack + DC jack the TMBs, modify those scopes to accept external power, and then chop and modify the shells of the TMBs for grenade conversion

Upcoming experiment: I have purchased 50mm diameter, 150mm focal length glass lenses for 013. I will produce a completely custom emitter and receiver tube, and this should allow 013 to reach ranges well in excess of 1000 feet and a much longer lock-on range due to the also improved receiver tube.

Location: We have Lincoln Way in Clairton to check out along with Dead Man’s Hollow. Anyone feel like an adventure?

UPDATE 05.29.22

We’ve explored the ruins in Dead Man’s Hollow and they rock. There’s another location that is suitable as well, located in Settlers Cabin park.

Here is the preview for the first objective.

Dead Man’s Hollow’s ruins are perfect for a zone game. The ruins will constitute a zone, containing the zone machine. Your team’s objective is to capture the ruins.

If you would like to see an interesting commercial, here it is. The original 1986 WoW Lazer Tag equipment. It may have been the last time any of this stuff looked cool at all.

This may stir memories among those of your who are old enough.

Hello everyone,

I want to share the work I’ve been doing on a custom built barrel assembly for 013, utilizing giant 75mm lenses.

This is the front-outer barrel assembly and the muzzle cap, which fit the separate optics assemblies inside.

Nose to the grindstone a bit; I’ve been designing parts and awaiting shipments. I have more experiments in mind for my own optical satisfaction.

The main thing right now is that I need folks to form a small red-ream of six or so people to test play these locations first, to see if we cause a reaction in anyone local.
