Hi everyone !
A call from the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition KNU Team 📣
We are proud to share that after completing 10-month journey KNU-team has successfully took part in Final Oral Round of the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition.
After advancing through the Regional Rounds in Porto, Portugal (10–12 February 2025), the team earned their place at the Final Oral Round in Strasbourg, France (19–23 May 2025). The team had a unique opportunity to plead just at the premises of the Council of Europe and attend final round at the European Court of Human Rights. ⚖️🏛️
The team was represented by dedicated and talented students from the Institute of International Relations: Myroslava Kalynovska (4th year), Polina Savinska (4th year), Sabrina Radutska (3rd year), and Marharyta Karmaniuk (2nd year).
Throughout the competition, the team worked on a challenging case centred on question of medical cannabis and how the denial of such treatment by the state could lead to violations of human rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights.
This experience was not only just an academic exercise, but a powerful training ground for real-world advocacy - where legal reasoning meets ethic responsibility, and where future practitioners learn how to hold governments accountable through the language of justice.
Judged by experienced human rights practitioners and scholars, the rounds offered a unique opportunity for our students to put theory into practice, learn from the best, and grow as future defenders of justice and individual freedoms.
We are truly grateful to everyone who stood by the team during this exceptional journey - and especially to the team’s coach, Anna Madei, whose unwavering support and expert guidance were key to every step forward. 💙
And let us remind you: defending the right to private life and property is not just a legal puzzle - it is a commitment to preserving human rights in a changing world. 💫

Hi everyone! 👋
We invite you to join the KNU Team for the International & European Tax Moot Court Competition in Belgium!
🏦 The International & European Tax Moot Court is organized annually by the Institute of Tax Law of the KU Leuven and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD).

▪️ Common international tax law rules such as permanent establishments or Mutual Agreement Procedure.
📌 The competition consists of 2 phases: submission of memorandums and oral rounds. Only 16 selected teams can participate in oral rounds based on the assessment of the written memorandums.
