Took the train to Kingston yesterday to have lunch with my two Markanen cousins. Lynne (2nd cousin) and Linda (Dad's 1st cousin) drove there from Toronto. It had been a very long time since we had seen each other.

Our garden is fairly attractive to butterflies

Taken sixty years ago today as I was heading off to university, this photo features the suit that my parents bought me for the time ahead. This was the only time I ever wore it. And it was the only suit I've ever had 🙂

We arrived in Shanghai yesterday (after a very tiring trip). Our first supper was delicious takeout: Qingshuan specialty fried rice and Tengzhou vegetable pancake purchased at two different establishments just up the street from our digs.

This is not a wine culture. And yes ... Steve will be drinking that beer.
