Had to pick up some extra gear for the running mujer 🏃‍♀️

Just having lunch at a new place - La Cortaita. First course of croquetas de boletus is excellent.
Another in our occasional series of residential courtyards

The leaders in this year's Sevilla ½-marathon going by our apartamento at the 40 minute mark. The second video shows them coming back eight minutes later, about ten minutes from the finish.

About twenty minutes later, looking east. The roundabout is Plaza de Cuba, just before the bridge crossing the Guadalquivir.

Just for reference, our apartamento is where the green asterisk is drawn (to the left of META). The red line is the route of the ½-marathon.

Back to Casa Oliva for lunch today. Perhaps the best food quality/price ratio of all the places we frequent.
Two thousand and eighty-seven (which is a prime number) weeks ago tonight we embarked on our life together. This might be the first photograph of the two of us, taken two months and three days later as we had just finished moving into our first place.

One of our favourite camareros (Manuel) at one of our favourite restaurants (La Montanera) took this photo of us at our anniversary lunch.

They didn't have carrot cake but this will do – tarta de galleta de la abuela. None of our grandmothers ever made anything like this!

Groundhog Day celebration in Lisboa thirteen years ago with some friends at O Magano. Pictured are Lucy, Rui and Célia. The server is one of the owners (very nice but we can't remember her name).

Lichun, or Beginning of Spring, the first of the 24 solar terms on the Chinese lunar calendar, falls on February 4 this year, ushering in the official start of spring as nature stirs back to life after winter.

Today marks the half way point of our stay in Sevilla. Unusually we have had quite a bit of rain so far, although it has been warm.

But a little rain doesn't stop the running mujer from her scheduled training run!

Seen on my morning run: La Capitana General which forms the back corner of the Plaza de España

Lunch today at Los Cuevas, one of our new favourites. There was a table for three nearby, looked like a daughter with her elderly parents. We couldn't help but notice that the mother tucked away a significant amount of food, much of it fried.

After the plates were cleared, some brandy was served and then some desserts. And the staff suddenly were singing Feliz Cumpleaños and many in the room (including us) joined in. It was the elderly woman's birthday and after the singing her [presumed] husband held up her dessert for all to see the numbers that were embedded ... 95!

It was a nice moment 🎂

So today after my run Steve and I went for coffee. He said, "Meet me at the pigeon hotel." So I did (photo 1) and we ended up going to Bar Toro. I was wearing my Betis training jersey (sample in photo 2) and it caused a bit of an uproar. Turns out José is a Sevilla fan, i.e. very much not a Betis fan, and kept feigning disgust. Carmen, on the other hand, is and kept saying, "Me encanta, me encanta!" All of this to the amusement of several other customers. Good times 😀
