yo, i’m KIRUBIEL
made this channel to share my game dev journey basically
learning unity, c#, blender, making stuff, breaking stuff, fixing it, then somehow breaking it again😭
i’ll post progress, random ideas, screenshots, mistakes, wins, whatever i’m cooking
just building and figuring it out as i go
welcome to kirubiel.devlog

Big Brainz is probably one of the biggest reasons I believe games and education can actually work together.
I remember learning multiplication by literally playing a game. I wasn’t sitting there thinking “I’m studying math” or forcing myself to memorize everything. I was just trying to progress, beat levels, survive, and somehow the multiplication started sticking in my head 😭
So now I’m trying to build my own version of that feeling. A game where the learning is actually part of the game, not just a quiz with some graphics around it

And ngl, because we’re in this AI era and there are so many tools now, I started with way too much confidence 💀
I was like yeah I can remake this idea and make it better in every aspect… better visuals, better gameplay, better learning system, better story, everything
then game dev reality hit lol
Turns out having the idea is the easy part. Actually building the systems, making the gameplay feel good, adding characters, fixing bugs, making the learning not feel forced… yeah 😭
Still very early, but I’m actually making it.
Hopefully one day some kid learns math from something I built the same way I did with Big Brainz.

here’s what i’ve actually been building 😭🎮
this is still very much a prototype so please don’t look too closely at some things lmao
the gun + hand coordination?
yeah… i know 😭
don’t ask me how many hours i suffered trying to fix that thing it still looks like the gun and the hand are in a long distance relationship but we’re working on it 💀
the sounds are still rough, the main menu image looks like it belongs to a completely different game, some of the characters look like they came from different universes, the shooting still needs a lot of work and the cutscenes are definitely… cutscenes 😭
but ngl sometimes i stop joking about it for a second and realize i started learning game dev around 2 months ago knowing basically nothing.
i wasn’t even that much of a gamer 😭and now somehow i’m sitting here making characters move, enemies fight, guns shoot, questions appear, cutscenes play, sounds trigger and an actual little game world exists because i made it.

there’s sooo much i still don’t know and every time i fix one thing another thing decides it wants attention 💀
but looking back at where i started, i’m actually kinda proud of this.
still ugly in some places, still broken in some places, still learning literally every day but it exists, and i made it.

game dev has this very funny way of making u suffer for 2 days over something that looks like a 4 hour job AFTER u finally understand it 😂
i spent basically 2 full days adding two things
a yellow guidance system so the player actually knows where tf they’re supposed to go
and an actual save system the game saves where you stopped then from the main menu u can hit Continue and it puts you back there.
sounds simple now right?
yeah, NOW 😭
to make this thing i was waking up around tewat 2 seat, going to Abrehot, sitting there the whole day until around mata 12 seat, going back home completely cooked…
then my inner thoughts would be like yeah bro… maybe you’re just not built for this
and then my ego immediately tf you mean?? watch me
so instead of resting like a normal person, i’d end up going back to Abrehot at night and keep working
and then repeat the same thing the next day
2 days
for a yellow line and a continue button 😭😭
but the funniest part
now that it works and i understand how everything connects, i look at it and genuinely thinkbro i could probably do this in like 4 hours now
and i think learning in general is kinda like that
before u understand something, it feels insanely complicated u’re searching everything, making dumb mistakes, breaking things that were working 10 minutes ago and questioning your entire career choice
then eventually it clicks…
and suddenly the thing that tortured you becomes almost obvious same thing with this whole game
2 months ago i knew basically NOTHING about game dev
i’ve been building this thing almost every day day and night for around 2 months
and now when i look back at everything i’ve made so far, there’s this stupid part of my brain going wait… if i started againi could probably make all this in a week 💀
TWO MONTHS OF SUFFERING REDUCED TO yeah probably a week
that’s actually insane but i guess that’s what progress looks like
everything feels impossible when you’re standing in front of it
then you somehow make it…look back… and wonder why it ever looked that hard
anyways keep pushing

Progress update 🎮
slow-motion shooting added
before building it, this sounded like one of those “yeah this is gonna hook players” ideas
now that it’s actually in the game… i’m realizing the game itself still isn’t that fun 💀
cool mechanic ≠ fun game apparently
