One thing that I realized from the meeting conducted by the IDP CEO. Reading and Listening band scores vary depending on the difficulty of the test.

This means, for example, if one test is relatively easier that the other, candidates can get different scores for the the same number of correct answers. Say, a candidate got band 7 for 32 correct answers because the reading test was easier, while another candidate with the same achievement (32) got band 7.5.

The pictures illustrate the steps taken to produce tea and make a nice cup of tea to enjoy. Overall, there are three main stages involving growing tea, making it available for sale, and a way of preparing a cup of drink from it.

Initially, tea is mainly grown in China and India, where its seeds are sown in fields. The growing process is apparently simple; the plants only need the Sun to grow. Once grown, they are picked up and placed into baskets in order for the tealeaves to be taken apart and dried under the Sun. Having been fully dried, they are then packed in boxes and loaded into heavy-duty vehicles. At this point, the lorries deliver the boxes to supermarkets to be put on shelves for customers to purchase.

The customers take the tea home in order to make a cup of tea. The first step of preparation of a ready tea is boiling tap water in a kettle. Before the boiled water is poured into a cup, a tea bag should be placed in the cup. Then, the liquid must be left for two minutes, after which some milk can be added to add some flavor. Finally, one can relish the ready beverage with sugar.

Many young people today struggle to find employment after finishing their education.
What are the problems associated with youth unemployment?
What solutions can you suggest?

After completing the higher education, the majority of graduates these days face challenges in gaining employment. This phenomenon can negatively affect a country’s economy, and can lead to a reduction in the workforce in different industries. To address these problems, university curricula can incorporate more practical and job-oriented subjects, and governments could offer higher wages to attract young professionals.

There are a number of problems associated with students being unable to secure employment. One of the major concerns is the increase in poverty rates, which will consequently impact the economy of a country. That is to say, if more people are unemployed, governments may face increased pressure to provide financial assistance to them. Another significant issue is the loss of workforce across various industries, which in turn leads to reduced productivity and slower economic growth. When major industries, such as manufacturing, healthcare, and education suffer from the employee shortage, it is difficult to meet the public needs.

A range of initiatives can be implemented to cope with these problems. In order to tackle poverty, governments should consider integrating a number of job-oriented subjects into university curricula, so students would be able to learn more practical skills rather than just studying theories. This will consequently lead to more skilled and professional youth who can secure employment and help the economy grow. As most people are becoming increasingly selective about job offers these days – meaning many of the youth spend ages searching jobs with high salaries, organizations should offer more competitive salaries to attract job seekers. As a result, given the salaries are high enough, college/university graduates can comfortably take the appropriate job without having to spend too much time deciding and being jobless.

In conclusion, the growing difficulty that graduates face in securing employment has significant economic and social consequences, such as rising number of impoverished people and the shortage of workforce in major industries. However, by adapting university curricula to include more job-focused subjects, and by offering competitive salaries, both governments and employers can play a pivotal role in alleviating these issues.

The three charts provide data on a public library in Little Chalfont town. The pie chart compares the ages of library members in the year 2016, while the table and the bar chart give information about the loans in the library, the former focusing on categories in 2016 and the latter comparing the total number from 2007 to 2016.

Overall, it is evident that a half of the membership belongs to adults aged 18-64, whereas young adults (13-17) and elderly people contribute to the least proportion with nearly similar figures. Another interesting point is that, the most popular types of books loaned in 2016 are children's and adult fiction with identical figures, while children's DVDs were the least popular contributing only a negligible proportion. There was a noticeable growth in the total number of borrowed books over a 10-year period.

Regarding the pie chart, adults aged 18-64 accounted for just over a half of the total number of members in 2016, which was followed by children whose proportion made up just under a quarter of the total. Young adults and elderly members had similar numbers, 12% and 15% respectively.

As for the table, in 2016 the most popular categories were fiction books among both children and adults; their figures were identical with 38%. The second most popular type was adult non-fictions, constituting 13%, which was twice as high as children's non-fictions. The rest 5% belonged to children's DVDs, young adults and adults audio books.

Looking at the bar graph, the number of loans started at over 15000 in 2007, and consistently increased over a 5-year period until  2011, reaching its peak at just over 20000. At this point, the number started to fall, and by 2013 it had become around 19000. Nevertheless, the upward trend continued after this slight decline, reaching approximately 21000 in 2016.

Band Evaluation

Task Achievement: Band 7.0–7.5

- You described all three charts and included a clear overview, which is essential.

- You highlighted key features (e.g., adult members dominating, children’s/adult fiction being equally popular, total loans rising overall).

However:

- Some comparisons were a bit mechanical, with more “listing” than deeper analysis (e.g., “the rest 5% belonged to…” feels simplistic and slightly inaccurate—actually those categories sum to more than 5%).

- Your overview is good but could be more concise and insightful.

Coherence & Cohesion: Band 7.0

- Information is logically ordered (pie → table → bar).

- Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes repetitively (“As for,” “Regarding,” “Looking at…”).

- Paragraphing is fine, though transitions could be smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 7.0–7.5

- You used some good phrases: just over a half, constituting 13%, accounted for, reaching its peak.

- Repetition occurs: figures, proportion, most popular, made up.

- Collocation slips: adult audio books should be adult audiobooks.

- Could use more variety, e.g., dominant share, marginal category, steady upward trend.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy: Band 7.0–7.5

- You used complex sentences correctly most of the time.

- Some slips: Another interesting point is that, the most popular types (comma misuse), There was a noticeable growth (should be “increase”), just under a quarter of the total (fine, but slightly repetitive phrasing).

- Mostly accurate, but lacks the flexibility of Band 8–9 writing.

The chart shows the number of international students studying at a UK university between 1995 and 2015.

The given graph provides information about how many overseas students pursued their education in one of the UK universities between 1995 and 2015.

Overall, it is evident that the most students the university welcomed were from Asia, and their numbers consistently rose throughout the period in the question. The same upward trend was seen in the number of North American students. The figures for European and African students remained relatively unchanged, albeit slight fluctuations at times.

Asia – whose number of students was at the top, started with 60 students in 1995. This was followed by Europe, with around 50 students in the same year. While there was a stable increase in the number of Asian students, eventually doubling at the end of the period with 120 students, Europe did not enjoy the same trend, ending with the same number of students, despite some ups and downs in the middle of the period.

As for North America, it started third with 40 students. Up until 2010, the number remained intact at 40, despite the slight dip by around five students in 2005. After that, their number went up noticeably from 40 to 70, eventually surpassing Europe’s figure in the last year.

Regarding African students, they attended the university the least over the whole period, starting and finishing with the same number – 20 students. Nevertheless, there was a moderate rise by 10 in 2010 (peaking at 30).

Introduction:
The given chart provides data on changes in the number of people who visit a UK museum in two different seasons of the year – summer and winter – over a 9-hour period spanning from 9 am to 6 pm.

Overview:

Overall, it is evident that the visitor numbers are significantly higher in summer than in winter throughout the day. It is also important to note that the changes in visitor number are quite similar in both seasons, albeit at varying degrees. That is to say, in both seasons, more and more people tend to visit the museum until around the noon, then their number starts to decline.

Body 1:
As for the summer, the season when the museum enjoys the highest number of visitors, the venue welcomes around 500 people when it opens in the morning. From then on, a consistent and substantial rise can be observed in the number of visitors, peaking at roughly 1,600 at noon, where the number starts to experience a sharp fall by 500 people by 1 o’clock. The visitor numbers continue to decline until the museum closes, though from 1 pm to 4 pm, the degree by which they fall is not as intense as in the last two hours. From 1 pm to 4 pm, the number only decreases by around 300, while the period after that experiences a staggering fall from 800 to 0 within just two hours.

Body 2:
Although the trends seem similar at first glance, the museum in winter does not enjoy an instant increase in the number of visitors, right after the opening unlike in the summer. Visitor number slightly decline from 400 to approximately 380 from 9 am to 10 am. Afterwards, the figure starts to follow the same trend as the one in the summer, yet it is much more moderate, increasing from 380 to only 600 until 11 in the morning. From 11 am onwards, a gradual decline can be seen in the number of visitors by 3 pm, when it reaches 0 and remains stagnant until the closing hour.

In many countries, people's eating habits are leading to obesity and other health problems.

Why do so many people have unhealthy eating habits? What is the most effective way to help people improve their eating habits?

Eating, defined as one of the basic needs of humanity, has recently become the cause of several health problems including obesity, with unhealthy diet being the main contributor. Contemporary technological advances and the ubiquity of social media around the globe have led people to lead unhealthy lifestyles. Among multiple viable solutions, I contend that promoting healthy lifestyle on social media and press is the most effective method to address this issue.

There are several factors these unhealthy eating habits stem from; one of them is sedentary lifestyle. Since most people are too attached to and obsessed with social media, marketers, especially in fast-food restaurants, are taking advantage from this phenomenon, exploiting humans' desire and temptations. They have started to place more focus and effort on promoting their unhealthy products on social media platforms, like Instagram, Facebook, knowing that if people are too exposed to this sort of content, they are more likely to purchase their products. This way, they have manipulated dozens of people around the world into needless spending on junk foods, consequently leading them to obesity and other health-related problems.

To mitigate this situation, in my opinion, we should use the same tools as marketers do: social media. As most people are too prone to believe and follow celebrities who are in public eye, governments should allocate decent amount of money on social media campaigns, promoting healthy lifestyle with the help of those influencers. If they boasted about how healthy they are by following certain diets or doing exercises, their viewers would probably take the same actions to stay healthy and fit. Some bloggers in Uzbekistan, for example, have started promoting healthy diet by advertising food companies who produce only organic food. As a result, most of their viewers started to buy those foods, and lead healthy and active lifestyles. Therefore, states should fund these types of restaurants to enable them work with more widely-known and highly-respected celebrities, so more people will become aware of their unhealthy lifestyles and start making changes in their lives.

In conclusion, several health problems have occurred due to unhealthy eating habits. To encourage people to consume healthier products, I believe governments should focus on promoting healthy lifestyle on social media, where the majority of people these days are spending most of their time in.
