Be someone you respect.

Not someone everyone likes. Not someone who never fails.

Someone who does what they said they would do. Someone who tells the truth when lying would be easier. Someone who shows up even when it costs them something.

Everything else. The success, the recognition, the results. It all follows from that one thing.

Respect yourself first. The rest comes after.
Most people quit because they forget that you have to be bad at something before you can be good at it. It's so obvious. You suck. Of course you're not going to win in 2 weeks. But if you can learn to enjoy extended periods of failure, you will make it very, very far in life.
The biggest skill you can develop is the ability to reset fast.

Bad conversation? Move on?

Bad day? Start fresh tomorrow.

Missed workout? Hit it the next day.

Poor decision? Learn and adjust.

You can't control what happens to you, but you control how long you let it affect you.
