We decided to organize regular open source meetups specially for you. They are going to be held every 2 months in Moscow. The entrance is completely free, very interesting presentations, experienced speakers and friendly dinners are guaranteed!

The first meetup will be held on 16 July. We're waiting for you all!

P.S. Every meetup will be streamed online on YouTube + we'll upload videos on the channel and add Russian and English subtitles.

You still have six weeks to submit your open source project to the annual Quality Award of mine. This year it will be combined with KaiCode and the prize will be $4,096. If you've already submitted your project to KaiCode, no need to resubmit — it will automatically be there.

67 projects were submitted to my 6th Quality Award and KaiCode competition. We decided to combine these two competitions this year (mostly due to COVID situation). The reward this year is $4,096. I'm currently looking for volunteers to help me review all projects submitted. If you are interested, please text me, I will pay $25 for each project reviewed.

We just published our first interview with an author of an emerging open source project, here. We will continue recording such interviews, if you your feedback will be positive. Thanks to Ilya Sher for telling us about his NGS project (a new programming language for Ops).

The second interview just published, with an author of a new small open source product: pip-license-checker by @pilosus.

This year we decided to join our forces: Yegor's Quality Award will be supported by KaiCode. This means that you are welcome to submit your open source projects using this form (the deadline is the 1st of October) and wait for the decision of the jury, which will be made on the 15th of November. By the way, this is the 7th year of the award: $16,384 has already been donated by Yegor to open source developers. This year you have a chance to get what you deserve! :)

Мы продолжаем собирать заявки на KaiCode — наш фестиваль open source проектов. И вот такой интересный отзыв получили недавно в ответ на приглашение в нем поучаствовать. Может быть стоит прислушаться к мнению наших коллег по ту сторону железного занавеса? Тоталитарный режим он такой: сегодня ты релизишь Rust, а завтра Родину продашь.

В этой связи, призываю всех, кто чувствует в себе силы для борьбы за нетрадиционные ценности мира open source — присылайте свои проекты на фестиваль! Вместе — мы сила! Вот форма для подачи заявки.

A few days ago, we invited someone to participate in KaiCode. We told him that in KaiCode we care about quality of code, not about its popularity. This is the answer :)

We published preliminary results of KaiCode'24 on our site: www.kaicode.org. In the next 10 days our jury will select the winners out of 26 candidates. In total, we received 412 applications, by the way.

The 7th KaiCode festival is over, we reviewed 412 projects submitted to us and selected three winners:

vprusso/toqito (USA, $2048)
orhun/git-cliff (Turkey, $1024)
codedredd/pinia-orm (Germany, $512)

The selection of winners were made by the jury of 14 people. Now it's time to start thinking about submitting your project to the next year competition, here. Also, you are welcome to join the jury or sponsor the festival.
