Jimma University IELTS centre will give its 7th round international examination on July 26, 2025.
Therefore, academic staffs and students who are interested to take the exam can register for it from May23, 2025 to July 20, 2025.
To register:
Go to google and enter: ieltsregitration.britishcouncil.org
Then, click on the IELTS ACADEMICS.
Next, go to “choose country/territory” and select Ethiopia from the listed countries by clicking on the dropdown menu or write Ethiopia in the given space.
After that, you will find “WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE YOUR TEST?”
Below the “SEARCH CITY”, choose Jimma at the bottom and click on it and you will see “WHEN WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE YOUR TEST?
Below this question, you will find the exam date, July 26, 2025. Click on July 26 and then, you will find “SEARCH FOR TESTS”
After that, you will see list of tests (speaking, listening, reading and writing) with their dates and time.
Thereafter, click on “BOOK TEST” at the bottom. Finally the portal asks you to fill in the required information and to upload the documents such as scanned Bank payment receipt, scanned passport or ID card, etc.
You will also be asked to fill in your birth date correctly (date, month and year in Gregorian calendar).
You need to fill in your email address and password as well. The system will show you what you are required to fill in.

Jimma University Celebrates Graduating Students with Disabilities
Farewell Program Held on 17 May 2025
Jimma University recently held a special farewell ceremony on 17 May 2025 to celebrate the achievements of its graduating students with disabilities. The event, organized by the Special Needs Support Center in collaboration with the Association of Students with Disabilities, honored the graduates for their dedication, perseverance, and contributions to campus life.
The celebration was attended by all students with disabilities, along with their non-disabled peers, service providing staff, and academic staff who came together to recognize the success of graduating members of students with disabilities. The event aimed not only to congratulate the graduates but also to appreciate their roles in advocacy and community building throughout their time at the university.
The event opened with a speech from the Vice Director of the Special Needs Support Center, who commended the graduates for overcoming numerous challenges to reach this important milestone. The speaker reflected on the broader challenges everyone faces in life and emphasized that graduation is not just an end, but the beginning of a new journey. Graduating students were encouraged to be resilient, hardworking, and determined as they prepare to face the world beyond university.
The farewell program featured a variety of engaging sub-sessions, including music, poetry, jokes, a Q&A session, and comedy skits. The event was marked by a sense of pride, joy, and unity, as the students took center stage to showcase their talents and creativity.
In a heartfelt moment, graduating students shared memorable experiences from their time at Jimma University, offering inspiration and valuable lessons to those still on their academic journey. Motivational speeches by student leaders highlighted themes of courage, self-belief, and persistence.
The event was a true celebration of inclusion, achievement, and community spirit, leaving participants both inspired and uplifted.
