JeCCDO is working in partnership with UNICEF to implement phase two of "Ending Child Marriage and Promotion of Women's Livelihood" in 10 schools and 12 kebeles of South Gonder Zone Libo Kemem Woreda of the Amhara Regional State. The project focuses on promoting gender equality, preventing early child marriage, and empowering women economically. Our ultimate goal is to create resilient communities that can bring about sustainable changes in the lives of children and youth, especially women and girls.
We strongly believe that ending child marriage requires the active participation of the community, and we encourage everyone to use this campaign period to be the voice for the voiceless.

🗓️Today marks the Africa Day of School Feeding, which is being celebrated for the 9th time. This year's theme is "Investing in Home-Grown School Feeding to transform education systems for an inclusive and prosperous future of the African Continent".
📌JeCCDO's breakfast club program at Deber Berhan Biruh Tesfa primary schools has been a huge success since its launch in 2021. We've expanded to Biruhtesfa and Basso primary schools, supporting 40 and 90 children, respectively, along with their guardians who receive IGA support. Now, we're thrilled to announce the program's expansion to Chole Primary School, where we're supporting 90 children from KG to grade eight, identified by the school administration committee as the most disadvantaged. This impactful initiative has been made possible with the invaluable support of Partner for Change, a longstanding partner in our mission to make a difference in the community. 🤝Together, we're creating positive change and brighter futures for these children❗

JeCCDO successfully organized a large-scale tree seedling campaign at its Bishoftu office compound on September 5, 2024. Staff members and volunteers participated in planting hundreds of seedlings, contributing to the reforestation initiative. JeCCDO's leadership emphasized the importance of such campaigns in addressing climate change and preserving natural habitats. The event also served as a platform to raise awareness about the critical role trees play in maintaining ecological balance and improving air quality.
