Since his funeral is front and center in today's headlines and social media....

While salvation by faith is the most crucial issue, in comparing Roman Catholicism with the Word of God, there are many other differences and contradictions as well. The Roman Catholic Church teaches many doctrines that are in disagreement with what the Bible declares.
These include apostolic succession, worship of saints or Mary, prayer to saints or Mary, the pope / papacy, infant baptism, transubstantiation, plenary indulgences, the sacramental system, and purgatory. While Catholics claim Scriptural support for these concepts, none of these teachings have any solid foundation in the clear teaching of Scripture. These concepts are based on Catholic tradition, not the Word of God. In fact, they all clearly contradict Biblical principles.

The Vatican is preparing for the funeral of Pope Francis today. As a Jew from Galilee and a follower of the Messiah, I am astonished by the vast difference between the Gospels and the religion that men have shaped from them. The disciple who became the Apostle Peter, in his wildest dreams, could not have imagined that a fisherman from Galilee, preaching to Gentiles about the Jewish Messiah, would be succeeded and represented by this kingdom of darkness and idolatry.
Dear Heavenly Father,
You number our hairs and determine our days;
You hang the stars
And feed the sparrows;
You open doors no one can shut
And shut doors no one can open.
Surely, we can trust You when the time comes for making big decisions, or for that matter, any decisions.
As we prepare to rest....
We will trust You for generous wisdom, straight paths and peaceful hearts, all for Your glory.

Verses 17-21: The Defeat of the Beast
An angel stands in the sun and calls all the birds to the great supper of God to feast on the flesh of the fallen.
The beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gather to wage war against the rider on the horse.
But the beast and the false prophet are captured and thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
The rest are killed by the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider.

In a world where tension and turmoil often surround it, we humbly ask for Your hand of protection and guidance over this sacred land and its people.
Lord, guard every city, village, and home in Israel.
May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of its inhabitants.
In times of uncertainty, be their steadfast hope; in moments of fear, be their enduring strength.
