Closing Prayer

"Father in heaven, thank You for humor.

Thank You for You. Thank You for You becoming a man because of Your love for us, dying for us instead of us, costing You everything, us 
nothing, and freely given only waiting to be freely received.

That's too high for our understanding.

What love is this?

M“Greater love hath no man that he would lay down his life for another.”

You must really love us.

And that love is incomprehensible, unfathomable this side of glory.
 
So Lord, thank You for Your love, Your word.

Thank You for prophecy.

Because it tells us what's going to happen, kike You said, Jesus, in John's Gospel, that You're going to tell us 
what's going to happen before it happens, so when it happens, “You will believe that I am.”

Period.

Whew!

And then You said in Luke 21:28, “When You see these things begin to come to pass, [Are 
you kidding me?] [We're way past begin come to pass.] look up and lift up your heads because your redemption draws nigh.”

Oh, Lord! As our sister Sandy just wrote in, You've got to be just, I mean, oh, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

They're ready already.

We're ready.

So what are we waiting for? I know it's not Your will that any should perish.

But oh, please, Lord, come quickly.

We pray in Jesus' name.

Amen.*

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

ON MY FRONT PORCH...

Who and what you choose to remember... makes you who and what you are!

It seems the older I get the more my mind thinks of yesterday and less of this world's tomorrows.

When I was very young I became an observer of people as they came and went into my limited existence... fascinated with the brief interlude of those on the fringe especially.

The world has always had them. Back then (1950s)... the transients were called hoboes and the locals had names like "Charcoal Charlie" and  "Dynamite Joe".

Charcoal Charlie got his name because he lived in the old "roundhouse" at the end of the train line from a day when trains ran on coal and bathing was not his priority.

You'd get a glimpse of him, not very often, as his literal black clothes and face, covered with coal dust, made almost an image of a silhouette slowly moving down the road in front of the house.

Dynamite Joe lived in a small little house, down the road a bit, on the other side and had the self appointed job of road kill management.

His small house always had woodchuck hides hanging on the outside and that also meant his stomach was full.(Sorry...not trying to be gross) but that's the way he operated, him and his wheelbarrow and shovel.

Now for those who were moving through!

The focus of who and what life brings your way.

They were called hoboes back then....and they had a network amongst themselves as to where they could get a meal if they were in your neck of the woods...

I remember my mom would feed them on the front porch...they would quietly eat and as silently as they arrived...they left.

Most had mentioned names but I don't remember them or their faces ...all accept one...

Not his name but his face and what he wore and what he spoke...

He had only one eye...the other was closed shut....he looked old but life most likely had made him look even older than he really was..

His wide brimmed and tattered hat was kinda pulled down on one side and open to the good eye on the other..  the old jacket had holes and his shoes by all appearance had seen many miles.

Everything he owned was in a sack and he told me stories of his life as we sat together on the porch...days of a much different life and how he got to where he was that day.

The point to this recollection is that when you think about who you have encountered over the years and what the circumstances were...what you learned and retained ....it developed you to a large part into what you perceive and believe today...

God has blessed me for most of my life and now through His guidance and giving me back these memories I am grateful He is there...He always was...it just took me all these years to appreciate Him and His blessings on my life.

Remember those you have run into over the years ....what they may have given you in the experience and love them, posthumously if they're no longer here, but most of all thank and love your Creator.... their Creator..... for all your blessings!

Psalm 68:35

During the last 12 months ..we have a brother in Australia (Michael) who has asked us for prayer for a friend and her family .. (Krystal, Nick and their children)....

So many of you prayed for her and her family and Michael just messaged me with an update...which is below 👇

Hey brother how’s things going?
Krystal had her surgery last Wednesday and they removed the tumour, they re joined her small bowel and gave her a colostomy bag.
Everything went well and she is now cancer free and recovering in Royal Melbourne. They just moved her from icu back to the ward and she will be here for at least another week.
Hope you guys are going well.
