Regret is part of repentance.”

[Sunan Ibn Mājah 4252]

Man is in deep sleep. Don’t be the one who wakes up on the Day of Judgement, it will be of no use to you then. It will be too late.

And if every person who had wronged (by disbelieving in Allāh and by worshipping others besides Allāh), possessed all that is on earth, and sought to ransom himself therewith (it will not be accepted), and they would feel in their hearts regret when they see the torment, and they will be judged with justice, and no wrong will be done unto them.

[Surah Yunus | Āyāt 54]

When you anchor your heart in Allah’s pleasure, life becomes lighter. Other people’s opinions only have power over you when you give them more value than what Allah thinks of you—and what you know of your own sincerity.

And I choose to let it all go… except His approval.

Allah says in surah al-Baqarah:

[وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ ]

And establish the prayer and pay the zakah and bow with those who bow [43]

Commenting on this, al-Shawkani wrote:

The reason why Allah specifically mentioned *rukoo'* - "bowing" - here is because the Jews do not make *rukoo'* in their prayers.

This also highlights the importance of praying in congregation and going out to pray in the masajid.

A group of scholars hold that it is mandatory to pray in congregation, though they differ among themselves as to whether that is an individual obligation or a collective obligation.

But the majority of scholars hold that it is an emphasized and highly-encouraged sunnah but not mandatory. And this is the correct stance due to a number of authentic hadith narrations from a number of sahabah stating that prayer in congregation is favored over praying alone by 25 or 27 degrees.

The Eid for the Believers in Jannah

❝As for the Eid for the believing servants in Jannah, then it's the days when they will visit their Lord, The Mighty and Majestic, so they will visit Him and He will honour them with the highest level of honour by revealing Himself to them so they can look at Him.

So He will not give them anything that is more beloved to them than that and that is the extra about which Allah The Mighty and Majestic said:

ا ‎﴿لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ﴾
For them who have done good is the best [reward] and more❞

This World Is Temporary

Don’t become too attached to this dunya. The happiness, pain, success, and struggles of this life will all pass. What truly remains is your relationship with Allah and the deeds you send ahead for the Hereafter.

Some people lose themselves chasing temporary things while forgetting the eternal life to come.
Pray sincerely. Repent often. Do good quietly.
Because one day, this world will end for all of us.

Live for Jannah, not just for this dunya.

As much as you can, keep dunya (worldly life) in your hand--not in your heart.

That means when someone insults you, keep it out of your heart so it doesn't make you bitter or defensive. When someone praises you, also keep it out of your heart, so it doesn't make you arrogant and self-deluded. When you face hardship and stress, don't absorb it in your heart, so you don't become hopeless and overwhelmed. Instead keep it in your hands and realize that everything passes.

When you're given a gift by Allah, don't hold it in your heart. Hold it in your hand so that you don't begin to love the gift more than the giver. And so that when it is taken away you can truly respond with 'inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon': 'indeed we belong to Allah, and to Allah we return'.

When you observe people, they generally fall into four categories:

1. Obedient to Allah and content with their life.
2. Obedient to Allah but discontent with their life.
3. Disobedient to Allah yet content with their life.
4. Disobedient to Allah and discontent with their life.

Being in the first category is expected, for Allah says:

"Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do." (Surah An-Nahl, 16:97)

Being in the fourth category is also understandable, as Allah says:

"And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind." (Surah Taha, 20:124)

However, finding yourself in the second category may be due to one of two reasons:

1. Allah loves you and is testing your patience to elevate your rewards. He says:
"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient," (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:155)
2. There are flaws in your worship, sins you commit unknowingly, or sins you fail to repent from. Thus, Allah tests you to make you aware of your mistakes, as He says:
"And we will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will repent." (Surah As-Sajdah, 32:21)

But being in the third category should serve as a serious warning—a sign that one's footing is slipping. This is the worst state to be in, for it leads to severe punishment. Allah says:

"So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair." (Surah Al-An'am, 6:44)

"And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers." (Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 51:55)

Allah says in surah al-Baqarah:

[ أَتَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبِرِّ وَتَنسَوْنَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ]

Do you command the people to do righteousness and forget your own selves while you recite the scriptures? Have you no sense? [44]

Commenting on this, al-Shawkani wrote:

[انتقل معهم من تقريع إلى تقريع ، ومن توبيخ إلى توبيخ فقال : إنكم لو لم تكونوا من أهل العلم وحملة الحجة وأهل الدراسة لكتب الله لكان مجرد كونكم ممن يعقل حائلا بينكم وبين ذلك ذائدا لكم عنه زاجرا لكم منه ، فكيف أهملتم ما يقتضيه العقل بعد إهمالكم لما يوجبه العلم . ]

Allah moves here from one rebuke and criticism to another, saying: Even if you were not people of knowledge, bearers of the proofs and students of the scriptures, simply being those with a functioning intellect should have been enough to prevent, inhibit and deter you from such behavior.

How then could you have ignored the dictates of reason after already neglecting the mandates of knowledge?

Ayah & Hadith of The Day

And whoever turns away from My remembrance — indeed, he will have a depressed life…” [Surah Taha 20:124]

The Prophet ﷺ said:
The example of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember his Lord is like the living and the dead.” [Sahih al-Bukhari]

These reminders show that remembrance of Allah is not just an extra act of worship, but something that gives life to the heart. A person can have comfort, entertainment, or distractions and still feel empty inside. Staying connected to Allah through remembrance brings clarity, peace, and direction, especially during difficult times. When that connection weakens, the heart can slowly become distant and spiritually exhausted without a person even realizing it.

Sincere Repentance

Ibnu Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

When you resolve to repent sincerely and it arises from the depths of your heart, it will burn away the sins you have committed, as if they never even happened. For the one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin.

Why Sabr (Patience) Elevates a Believer

Allah says: “Indeed, Allah is with the patient” (Qur’an 2:153)

Sabr is powerful because:

• It brings Allah’s special support
• It turns trials into reward
• It protects from regret and rash decisions
• It builds inner strength and calmness
• It leads to relief after difficulty

Every hardship in Islam is temporary—but the reward for patience is lasting.

Be patient, Allah is preparing something better.

Allah the Exalted said: "And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed [narrow] life.” [Taha: 124].

His "remembrance" refers to His Words (the Qur'an) which He revealed to His Messenger, and "turning away" from it means failing to contemplate it and act upon it. As for the "depressed life," most interpretations state that it refers to the punishment of the grave. This was stated by Ibn Mas’ud, Abu Hurayrah, Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, and Ibn Abbas, and there is a Marfu’ (attributed to the Prophet) Hadith regarding this.

The linguistic origin of dhank (depressed/narrow) is constriction and hardship; anything that becomes cramped is described as dhank. It is said: "a narrow home" or "a strained life."
This "depressed life" stands in contrast to the expansion and indulgence of the self and body through desires, pleasures, and ease. Indeed, the more one indulges the self (the nafs), the more it constricts the heart until life becomes strained. Conversely, the more one restricts the self, the more the heart expands until it finds joy and spaciousness.

Thus, the "narrowness" of living in this world due to piety results in spaciousness in the Barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection) and the Hereafter. Meanwhile, the "spaciousness" of living in this world following one's whims results in narrowness and hardship in the Barzakh and the Hereafter.
