A delegation of 30 Muslim scholars from 14 different countries visited East Turkestan and praised China’s genocidal policies against Muslims.

The following statement was given by Uyghur activist and member the International Union of East Turkistan Organizations Abduresid:

“The Muslim population of East Turkistan feel very hopeless about the delegation visit of the World Muslim Communities Council to East Turkistan following an invitation from China on 8th January, and the latest statement of the chairman Dr. Ali Rashid Abdullah Ali Alnuaimi which condones Chinese genocide crimes. The statement used the same language China created for eliminating Islam and ethnic cleansing of the Muslim population by defining all Islamic and ethnic features as terrorism and extremism. The visiting of more delegations to East Turkistan is a good thing from the perspective of reconnecting the region to the world, but the delegation should not fail to fulfill their obligations of supporting the truth and protecting the interest of oppressed Muslim communities.

The International Union of East Turkistan Organizations strongly rejects all false statements and any forms of propaganda to cover Chinese crimes and calls all Muslim communities, organizations, religious leaders, and the members of the beforementioned delegation to stand with the people of East Turkistan, and stop Chinese oppression and ongoing genocide by taking affective actions, expressing the truth and demonstrating the expected Muslim solidarity.”

Chinese leader Xi Jinping has visited Europe this week, with many citing the visit as a frantic attempt to iron out ongoing economic disputes between the EU and China.

But we will not let this distract from the ongoing Uyghur genocide, in which millions have been put into concentration camps, forcibly sterilised, had foetuses aborted, wombs removed, raped, or killed.
