To our students and community members,

We recognize that what is unfolding in Iran has deeply affected many in our community. Iranian students, both here and abroad, are navigating uncertainty, emotional strain, and ongoing concern for family, friends, and loved ones, while continuing their daily responsibilities from afar.

We want to acknowledge this weight. These are heavy days, and everyone processes them differently.

While staying informed and aware is important, it is equally important to care for ourselves and for one another during this time.

As students, and on behalf of the Iranian Student Association, we stand with Iranians near and far. Our role is to offer support, understanding, and a space where our community can feel seen, supported, and not alone.

We send our thoughts and solidarity to all those affected, and we hold hope for safety, dignity, and freedom for the Iranian people.

Mental Health Support Available 🤍

Over the past week, I have been reaching out to the university to request support and resources for Iranian students during this very difficult time. I appreciate MSU Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS) for their care and responsiveness.

If you would like 1:1 mental health support, the following options are available:

🔹 Self-schedule online:
Sign up for CAPS Connect sessions (in-person or virtual), available every weekday at various times.
➡️ Visit the CAPS website and click “Sign up in advance to chat with a CAPS clinician.”

🔹 Schedule with a contact person:
Email Lauren at entylaur@msu.edu

• Appointments every Friday
• 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Holden Hall
• 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Communication Arts & Sciences Building
• In-person or virtual options available
• If Fridays don’t work, Lauren will help schedule you with another CAPS clinician

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need support. You are not alone 🤍

We warmly invite you to join us for a community care gathering where we can spend time together, support one another, and share a meal in solidarity.

📍 Location:
MOSAIC – Multipurpose Room
49 Abbot Rd, 2nd Floor, Ste 226
Room 227, MSU Union

🗓 Saturday, January 17
12:00–3:00 PM

This gathering is a space to come together as a community especially during a difficult time to connect, talk, and support one another. Two CAPS staff members will join us to share mental health resources and explain how they can support students, both individually and as a community, and will be available to connect with anyone who would like to talk.

Your presence truly matters. Being there helps show the university how much our community needs care, visibility, and support‌‌ and how important it is for our voices to be heard. I personally appreciate everyone who is able to join us.

🍲 Please bring your favorite dish to share.

Let’s show up for one another and create a caring, supportive space together 🤍

ISA-2025/2026
We have drafted a letter to Michigan State University leadership requesting a brief acknowledgment and message of support for students and community members affected by this humanitarian crisis. This effort is not political it is about solidarity, humanity, and making sure our community’s voices are heard.

To show collective care, solidarity, and to help raise awareness within the university, we are collecting signatures to attach to this letter.

📝 Google Form to sign (anonymous option available):

Signing is completely voluntary, and you may choose to remain anonymous if that feels safer or more comfortable for you.

Every voice helps raise awareness and reminds our community that students impacted by this crisis are not alone.

With care 🤍

Join us for a peaceful gathering of honor and remembrance to raise awareness about the ongoing human rights crisis in Iran.

The purpose of this gathering is to amplify the collective voice of Iranians abroad and to stand in unified support with those inside Iran. This event is not about endorsing any political path or candidate.* It is about standing with the people of Iran and ensuring that their pursuit of freedom, dignity, and basic human rights is seen, heard, and not forgotten.🤍

We will paint The Rock and light candles in honor of those we have lost. We hold close the Javid-Naam-ha brave souls who sacrificed their precious lives for Iran’s freedom. Their names and courage will never be forgotten. 🤍

📌This is a peaceful gathering. All participants are expected to follow university rules and regulations.

📍 Location: The Rock, Michigan State University

A Statement for Our Iranian Community at MSU

To honor those who lost their lives in Iran and to express our solidarity with their families, the Iranian Student Association (ISA) has decided to cancel this year’s Nowruz, Chaharshanbe Sori, and Sizdah Bedar celebrations.

Instead, we will gather in a different way.
On April 5, ISA will host an event for our MSU Iranian community focused on remembrance and honoring the lives we have lost.
