Our un-friendly neighbors had already been using many “ocean science research” ships round around the Taiwan island region for years*. They definitely had a very detailed map of cables and can take them out easily at once when necessary.

It would be better to disclosed the truth and encourage civil society to take action, for example, by moving more critical societal services locally to reduce the effect of losing global connections.
