🎙 Unity of Iran’s Army, IRGC a strategic asset for national security: Army chief

📌 Tehran, IRNA– Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Major General Amir Hatami has described the unity between the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as a strategic asset for safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and strengthening national security.

The commander made the remarks on Wednesday in a message marking the anniversary of the establishment of the IRGC. He congratulated members of the IRGC and said the organization is one of the enduring legacies of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini.

Hatami noted that since its establishment, particularly during the leadership of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the IRGC has served as a strong force against threats and conspiracies targeting Iran.

He said the IRGC’s record is filled with sacrifice, dedication, and significant contributions to protecting the achievements of the Islamic Revolution. According to the army chief, the force has played an effective role in various defense and security fields, demonstrating constant readiness to confront hostile actions against Iran.

Hatami also highlighted the IRGC’s role during the eight-year Iran-Iraq war and in recent conflicts involving the US and the Israeli regime, saying its performance showcased the capability, intelligence, and determination of the organization’s forces while reaffirming Iran’s defensive strength.

The army chief stressed that cohesion among Iran’s armed forces, particularly between the Army and the IRGC, along with public support and the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, guarantees the protection of Iran’s territorial integrity and national stability.

He concluded by congratulating IRGC commanders and members, wishing them success and strength in serving the country.

🔊 Iran, Russia review Rasht-Astara railway and expansion of maritime cooperation

📌 Tehran, IRNA– Tehran and Moscow have discussed the Rasht-Astara railway construction and the development of transport cooperation through the Caspian Sea.

Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh and her Russian counterpart Andrey Nikitin, in a phone call, have stressed the importance of air transport.

Sadegh expressed hope that, within the framework of recent agreements reached at the 19th session of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between the two countries, effective steps would be taken to develop transport and transit cooperation.

She thanked the Russian Federation for its constructive stance in condemning the US-Israeli aggressive attacks on Iran.

The Russian Federation sent humanitarian aid to Iran in several phases, which demonstrates the comprehensive and deep relations between the two countries, the official noted.

Iranian infrastructure was also severely destroyed in these attacks, she further noted.

Traffic at the Astara border is proceeding with minimal issues, and even during the war, we saw coordination between the two countries to maintain stable border crossings, Sadegh stated.

She described the strategic and geopolitical Rasht-Astara railway project as the only link in the North-South Corridor.

She also called for the finalization of the draft proposal for the two countries' transport roadmap for 2026-2027.

Meanwhile, Nikitin expressed the Russian Federation’s support for Iran and condemned the baseless and unjustified attacks by the Zionist regime and the US.

He also noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is monitoring transport interactions between the two countries.

He offered Russia’s readiness to develop rail, maritime, and air cooperation.

🔊 IRGC pledges ‘surprises beyond enemy’s imagination’ against any aggression

📌 Tehran, IRNA – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it is prepared to deliver “surprises” beyond the understanding and calculations of Iran’s enemies in the event of renewed aggression against the country.

In a statement issued on the anniversary of the IRGC’s establishment on Wednesday, the IRGC described itself as a powerful, popular institution ready to achieve “greater outcomes and surprises beyond the scope of the understanding and calculation of the warmongering and unfaithful enemy.”

Addressing persistent hostility from the enemies, the IRGC said, “The anger of enemies toward this ideological, popular and revolutionary institution, as the toughest obstacle to achieving their anti-Iranian strategies, has incited them” to seek its designation as a terrorist organization.

The statement stressed the need for vigilance during a period of “silence in military battle,” highlighting the importance of closely monitoring the behavior of an “arrogant and deceitful enemy” during negotiations and a so-called ceasefire period.

“With divine success and the initiative of the country’s powerful armed forces, especially the IRGC, most of the military infrastructure of the Israeli and American enemy in the region has suffered severe blows and collapse,” it said.

The IRGC added that it remains at the “peak of readiness” to continue confrontation, warning it is prepared for “decisive, definite and immediate” responses to any renewed aggression.

It further reiterated that any future aggression against the Islamic Republic would bring “crushing blows beyond the enemy’s imagination against their remaining assets in the region.”

Iran’s Armed Forces maintain strategic dominance and will prevent any revival of the enemy’s core capabilities, the statement added.

The United States and Israel launched a war of aggression against Iran on February 28, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several top military commanders.

On April 8, after 40 days of war, Iran and the US reached a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, followed by inconclusive negotiations to permanently end the war.

🎙 Iran says will act based on national interests after Pakistan’s call to extend ceasefire

📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iran has reacted to a request by Pakistan’s foreign minister urging Tehran and Washington to extend the two-week ceasefire, stressing that the Islamic Republic will act based on its national interests and security considerations.

Speaking on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said Iran is “closely monitoring developments in the field and political arena” and will take “necessary and appropriate measures to safeguard Iran’s national interests and security.”

He added that Iran’s Armed Forces are “fully vigilant and ready for comprehensive and decisive defense of Iran’s integrity against any threat and malicious act.”

Baqaei made the remarks in response to a request by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, who called for extending the April 8 ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

He expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s “good offices and mediation efforts aimed at ending the imposed war and establishing peace in the region,” while emphasizing that “the Islamic Republic of Iran was not the initiator of this imposed war.”

Iran’s actions have all been “within the framework of the inherent right of legitimate defense against the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime,” he added.

On the possibility of a new round of negotiations with Washington, he stated, “Diplomacy is a tool for securing national interests and security, and whenever we conclude that the necessary and reasonable conditions exist to use this tool… we will take action.”

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would extend the ceasefire at the request of Pakistan while maintaining the blockade and military readiness against the Islamic Republic.

On April 8, after 40 days of US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, Tehran and Washington reached a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, followed by inconclusive negotiations to permanently end the war.
