๐ŸŒ Iranโ€™s Parliament speaker sees financial war as frontline against US

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ Speaker of Iranโ€™s Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has emphasized that the main battleground for confronting the United States lies in financial warfare, emphasizing that economic resistance is the key to weakening American influence.

Writing on his account on X early Saturday, Parliament speaker referred to recent statements by the US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent regarding the activation of certain currencyโ€‘swap arrangements aimed at preventing what US officials described as irregular liquidation of American assets.
โ€‹
Ghalibaf wrote, โ€œSwaps given โ€˜to prevent disorderly sale of US assets.โ€™ Translation: some holders canโ€™t sell. ICYDK: hidden single-digit % sale cap limits some institutional holders. Door closes if things escalate. Get out while open. Their frontline is the yield curve.โ€
โ€‹
According to the speaker, the reported measures indicate that some institutional holders of US bonds may face constraints in selling their holdings. He noted what he described as sensitivities within the US financial system surrounding largeโ€‘scale bond sales and referenced the existence of informal thresholds that stateโ€‘linked or institutional investors reportedly observe.
โ€‹
He added that, under worsening market conditions, the ability of some investors to sell such assets could become further limited. He also issued a cautionary message to bond holders, saying the situation reflects broader concerns about market stability.

Following the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran on February 28, Tehran responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime route. This action had significant repercussions for the global economy, especially affecting the economic stability of the United States.

๐Ÿ“„ Iran dispatches first Hajj teams to Medina ahead of 2026 Hajj season

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNAโ€“ The first group of Iranโ€™s Hajj personnel has departed for Medina, marking the start of preparations for the 1405 Hajj season.

The group, comprising executive staff and organizers, departed Tehran from Imam Khomeini Airport on Saturday, accompanied by senior officials from the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and the office of the Leaderโ€™s representative for Hajj affairs.
โ€‹
A total of 30,672 pilgrims and staff are set to participate this year, organized into 236 caravans. Departures will continue until the 26th of Dhu al-Qiโ€™dah, with arrivals to Medina proceeding in phases.
โ€‹
Hojjatoleslam Seyed Abdolfattah Navab, the Leaderโ€™s representative for Hajj and pilgrimage affairs, said that โ€œdespite the foolish war imposed on the country, we thank God that the door of Godโ€™s house has been opened to pilgrims who have waited for years.โ€
โ€‹
He added that Iranian pilgrims would serve as โ€œforerunners of the programs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the unity of the Islamic Ummah,โ€ and would remember those unable to attend.
โ€‹
The early dispatch of operational teams is part of logistical preparations to ensure infrastructure and services are in place before pilgrims arrive.
โ€‹
This year, Hajj is expected to take place between 25th May 2026 to the 30th May 2026 in the Gregorian Calendar, depending on the sighting of the moon.

๐Ÿ“ก Hundreds of Turkish academics slam strikes on Iranian universities

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNAโ€“ As many as 239 prominent Turkish professors and scholars have issued a joint statement strongly condemning the recent US-Israeli attacks on Iranian universities and research institutions, describing them as an act of โ€œepistemicide,โ€ a crime against knowledge and humanityโ€™s intellectual heritage.

According to a Saturday report from Iranโ€™s Organization of Student Affairs, the statement denounces the attacks as blatant violations of international conventions that guarantee the protection of educational and scientific facilities during conflicts.
โ€‹
The signatories stress that universities must remain safe havens of humanity beyond the reach of warfare.
โ€‹
The declaration warns that the targeting and intimidation of Iranian scientists threaten global academic security and turn centers of learning into battlefields.
โ€‹
The scholars also urged UNESCO and the United Nations to establish an emergency mechanism to safeguard universities in conflict zones.
โ€‹
In one of its passages, the statement criticizes the Western worldโ€™s double standards, noting the silence of Western academic communities regarding the destruction of Iranian educational infrastructure. Such inaction, the scholars argue, undermines public trust in global intellectual institutions.
โ€‹
The document also calls for the suspension of academic cooperation with Israeli institutions involved in the development of military technologies and suggests barring war-supporting organizations from international conferences held in Turkey.
โ€‹
Concluding with a message of solidarity, the Turkish academics express readiness to host displaced Iranian researchers and students and propose forming an international network of emergency academic bridges to sustain collaborative research.
โ€‹
According to Organization of Student Affairs, this move, signed by non-political professors from top universities including Bogazici, Istanbul, and Ankara, reflects a growing regional demand to protect educational sanctuaries during war.
โ€‹
At least 30 Iranian universities and research centers have been attacked by the US and the Israeli regime since the war began on February 28, 2026.

๐ŸŒ Defense Ministry: Large portion of missile capabilities unused in war

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ Iranโ€™s Defense Ministry spokesperson says the countryโ€™s armed forces maintained control over the skies of Israeli-held territories up until the ceasefire, stressing that a significant portion of Iranโ€™s missile capabilities remains unused.

Speaking in a televised interview on Saturday, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik outlined the course of the third imposed war by the United States and Israel, which began on February 28 and was paused 40 days later by a ceasefire.
โ€‹
According to him, the conflict has resulted in seven key achievements for Iran, along with three additional objectives that remain partially fulfilled.
โ€‹
Talaei-Nik described the first achievement as a military victory, saying the enemy had aimed to dismantle Iranโ€™s missile and defense capabilities but failed to do so.
โ€‹
He added that Iranian forces retained aerial dominance over Israeli-held territories until the ceasefire, while much of the countryโ€™s missile capacity remains intact.
โ€‹
Despite initial weaknesses in air defense, he said, Iran gradually intensified pressure on enemy defenses, targeting all US bases in the region with missiles and drones. This, he argued, demonstrated not only the survival but the strengthening of Iranโ€™s offensive capabilities.
โ€‹
The second achievement, he said, was political, explaining that despite the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several commanders on the first day of the war, the Islamic Republic emerged more resilient and strengthened.
โ€‹
The third, a territorial achievement, involved thwarting attempts to fragment Iran, Talaei-Nik said, in reference to US officialsโ€™ statements that they had organized separatist groups and even supported them financially and militarily. This plot ultimately failed due to Iranโ€™s intelligence and security measures, he added.
โ€‹
The spokesperson cited mass public mobilization as the fourth achievement, describing it as a โ€œsocial miracle.โ€
โ€‹
The fifth achievement was security, he said, adding that attempts to incite unrest inside Iran were neutralized, leaving the country stable and secure.
โ€‹
Sixth, he pointed to a geopolitical gain, stating that Iran has maintained firm control over the Strait of Hormuz, using it as leverage while forcing enemy forces in the Sea of Oman to retreat on multiple occasions.
โ€‹
Finally, Talaei-Nik highlighted international alignment as a seventh achievement, saying efforts to build an anti-Iran coalition failed, while anti-US and anti-Israel sentiment grew globally, including protests within the United States.
โ€‹
Three ongoing objectives
โ€‹
The spokesman also outlined three goals that are not yet fully achieved: securing compensation for damages, pursuing accountability for those killed during the conflict, and strengthening deterrence to prevent future threats.
โ€‹
Domestic arms production
โ€‹
Talaei-Nik emphasized Iranโ€™s domestic defense capabilities, noting that more than 1,000 types of weapons, including missiles, drones, and various defense systems, are now produced locally.
โ€‹
He said this capacity is the result of over 25 years of investment, adding that production and logistical support continue across the country even if some facilities are damaged.

๐Ÿ”ป Iran does not wage war, defense has no end point: Envoy

๐Ÿ“Œ London, IRNA โ€“ Iran is not waging war but will continue defending itself until hostilities fully cease and guarantees are secured to prevent their recurrence, stressing that such defense โ€œhas no end point,โ€ says the countryโ€™s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4โ€™s World at One program, released on Friday, Ali Bahreini responded to a question about how long Iran intends to continue the conflict by saying the question should be directed at the United States.
โ€‹
It is the United States that started the war, he said, adding that Iran does not wage war and is acting in self-defense, and defense has no end point.
โ€‹
He emphasized that Iran will continue its defensive measures until the war is completely halted and assurances are in place to ensure it will not happen again in the future.
โ€‹
Addressing a question about Iranโ€™s reported detention of vessels from countries not directly involved in the conflict with the United States and Israel, he said adversaries had used the Strait of Hormuz to supply military bases and pursue what he called illegitimate objectives in the region. As a result, he said, Iran has increased monitoring and oversight of ships passing through the strategic waterway.
โ€‹
The Iranian envoy also rejected claims of internal disputes or contradictions in Iranโ€™s high-level strategy, insisting that no such divisions exist. Instead, he accused the United States of inconsistency, saying Washington alternates between calls for negotiations, launching wars, and issuing threats.
โ€‹
The contradiction lies in the positions and behavior of the United States, and Iranโ€™s responses are calibrated to US actions, said Bahreini, arguing that this reflects strategic adaptation rather than inconsistency.

๐Ÿ”ป Iran to be rebuilt more magnificent than before: VP

๐Ÿ“Œ Tehran, IRNA โ€“ First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, referring to the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, says the people will make the Islamic Republic more glorious than before.

The enemy destroyed the bridges, but was unaware that the Iranian people would repair the damaged structures, Aref wrote on his X network in Persian on Saturday, highlighting the recent American and Zionist bombing of vital infrastructure, including roads and bridges.
โ€‹
The Vice President also referred to the Iranians coming forward to help their fellow countrymen, saying that material dealers in cities offer cement and villagers with free reinforcement to rebuild the life destroyed by the enemies.
โ€‹
"This goes beyond the reconstruction of concrete and steel, it is the nation and the government standing together", he noted, emphasizing, "With this spirit, we will make Iran more magnificent than before."
โ€‹
From the onset of the war imposed on Iran on February 28, the aggressive US and Israeli regimes have committed crimes by assassinating Iran's Leader and military commanders as well as civilians.
โ€‹
The US-Israeli atrocities in Iran include the killing of 168 of children in an attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh School of Minab, the drowning of unarmed sailors aboard the Dena corvette on a non-combat voyage, the widespread bombing of civilian areas, such as hospitals, bridges, factories, water treatment facilities, and many other vital installations
