iOS 12.3.1 vs. iOS 13 Beta 3
iPhone 6s, iPhone 8
🗣 Still it looks like the same performance as iOS 12.3.1, no visible sign of the twice as fast app launch. Overall smoothness of the UI is still very good, and when you look at the benchmark tests they come out more or less the same. Both single core and multi core are slower on iOS 13 Beta 3 in Geekbench for the 6S, but multicore faster on iPhone 8. Antutu HTML 5 test seems to have gotten quite the boost in Beta 3.

🗣 Benchmark tests are still very close when it comes to Geekbench. However iOS 13 loses out in all except for iPhone 8 Multicore. All others fall short altough not by very much. In the Antutu HTML5 test though iOS 13 is blazing fast on all devices. So Apple has stepped out here for sure for iOS 13. But worst of all, still absolutely no sign of the increased app launch speed. Yes it is still a Beta but we are 3.5 Beta versions in to the program, and you should start seeing it. So step up Apple.
I know it is not the final version, and it may not kick in before the final but I am seriously beginning to doubt that we will ever see it.

🗣 Performance of iOS 12.4 Beta 7 / GM is more or less still the same as that of iOS 12.3.1 when it comes to launching apps, and overall smoothness. However it is slower on all devices when it comes to the Geekbench test, not by much but consistently slower. Antutu HTML5 test however is faster on all devices except for the iPhone 8.
Now only one more test to do when the final drops and with some luck these abnormalities has been fixed.

🗣 Good news, seems like Apple is trying to fix 3DTouch aka Force Touch, still not there yet, but definitely a step in the right direction.
We are for sure still not seeing any of the performance improvements that was mentioned during the WWDC Keynote. Yes this is still a Beta and no we should not expect any launch speed improvements on non iOS 13 updated 3rd party, but you would think that Apple would let it loose on their own apps right? Does not look like it. We are still seeing on par launch speeds compared to that of iOS 12. 3. 1. I think that is quite disappointing, even for a Beta 2. Fearing that this could be the reality distortion field that strikes again. Lets see for future releases.

🗣 Still not much improvement to see. 3Dtouch does seem to have improved and performing equal to that of 12. 4. Other than that there does not seem to be much change vs Beta 5. 13 Beta 6 does seem very solid now. But if you like something a lost bug free, you should stay on the latest 12. 4. There are still many betas to go, so we can still improvement, especially 2x app speed loading which is still missing in action.

🗣 Still not much improvement to see to be honest. Benchmarks are in the almost equal ballpark, except for html5 which is as always faster on iOS 13. Twitter seems to be joined by the YouTube app showing small signs in launching faster on iOS 13. With that said iOS 13 is very smooth on these older devices, so looks very good still for the final release.

🗣 Well we are now seeing some of the results of the way new apps are built and packed in the Appstore in iOS 13. 1. If you look how apps like Snapchat, Twitter, Youtube, Apollo and Subway surfers now launch, it is clear that they are faster on iOS 13.1 I doubt it is 2x faster launch speed, but hey lets embrace any move in the right direction. Looking good for iOS 13.1, and hopefully also iOS 13 when it is launched.

🗣 Looks to me like iOS 13.1 Beta 3 has lost a bit of its momentum, Beta 2 showed great signs, and many of the 3rd party apps did launch much faster than I have seen before. They still launch a bit faster, but not as fast as on Beta 2.
Hopefully this will be back on track for Beta 4, as it so far looked very promising. That said, iOS 13.1 stills seems more smooth than iOS 13 GM, and it will for sure be the version that I will be using on my daily device.
Looking forward to the final release.

🗣 iOS 13.3 Beta 4 still looks great, performance is more or less equal to that of Beta 3 and iOS 13. 2. 3. RAM management seems for me to have been fixed, atleast that is what it looks like in the tests. Benchmark test are more or less too close to call on both versions so no issues there. UI performance is still as good as it was on Beta 3 and is on iOS 13.2.3.

🗣 iOS 13.3 Final performs pretty good. Very smooth user interface not that much smoother than iOS 13.2.3, but it does just feel a bit better. Maybe placebo but looks promising. Benchmark tests are more or less the same on all device, however iPhone 11 was somewhat slower on the Geekbench test than on iOS 13.2.3. This is the first time these devices are tested by me, but they were setup a few days ago, so should be ready to go. If I still have them for the next test it will be interesting to watch. Hang in there for the battery test coming in a few days. But pending the battery test iOS 13.3 does look like a no brainer update.

🗣 iOS 13.3.1 Beta 1 surprisingly does seem pretty smooth, and feels a little bit faster in performance and user interface performance. Not too bad. The benchmark test more or less also confirms it. Most are in favor of iOS 13.3.1. Looking good for the final release.

🗣 iOS 13.3.1 Beta 2 performs much as Beta 1 did, no signs of any huge performance boosts. Very smooth UI, and apps opens more or less equal to that of iOS 13.3. The Benchmark tests all score within very close margins to each other, no real sign of any clear winner. So looking at the final release if this continues, it will be another good iOS 13 release.

🗣 iOS 13.3.1 Beta 3 performs a bit better than Beta 1+2 did I do think that there are some small signs that Beta 3 runs a bit faster than previous versions and better than iOS 13.3. The Benchmark tests still score within very close margins to each other, but mostly with iOS 13.3.1 coming out as the winner. So looking at the final release if this continues, it will be another good iOS 13 release..

🗣 From a performance standpoint there is no reason to stay away from iOS 13.3.1. It performance just as good as iOS 13.3 and for some benchmark tests even better. However all scores are more or less to close to mark a clear winner. So expect the same performance on iOS 13.3.1 as you saw on iOS 13. 3. All good on the western front. Peace.

🗣 So did you notice?, did you notice that "small" about 1 second delay when pressing about in settings?. Not sure why this happens but it seems to be consistent across all devices, also on iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. Very strange, but it is most likely a bug that will go away before the final release, or maybe Apple is doing some more checks and data collection before displaying the about info. Anyway besides that Beta 3 is much like Beta 2, a very well performing release. Benchmarks are all very close in results compared to iOS 13.3.1, and GUI smoothness is still very good.

🗣 The 1 second delay when opening about in settings has been fixed. All devices now seem to boot slower than iOS 13.3.1, but overall performance of the UI seems to be the same. Geekbench test is about the same, faster / slower by only a few points, so considering that a tie. Antutu html5 test is however faster consistently for iOS 13.4 Beta 4. Still looking good.
