What drives a young doctor from Gabon to travel thousands of miles in pursuit of knowledge?
The answer lies in the journey of Liz Ongono — a PhD student who discovered her true calling in scientific research while studying in Russia.

👩‍⚕️ After earning her medical degree and working as a general practitioner in Gabon, Liz chose to push further. Today, her research focuses on complex cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic conditions — with a clear goal: to improve healthcare in her home country.

💬 Guided by a deep commitment to helping others, she continues her work despite language barriers and cultural differences, turning challenges into opportunities for growth.

🏥 Her ambitions go beyond research. Liz is also contributing to the development of medical education and healthcare infrastructure in Gabon, supporting efforts to train the next generation of professionals.
