🔥 Sports Day Without Borders | Games of Russia & the World 🌍

🎓On April 18, as part of the Regional Festival “Charm of Russia”, an energetic and vibrant Sports Day took place under the theme “Games of the Peoples of Russia and the World” 🏃‍♂️

🔝The event was officially opened by Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Alexander Astafyev, who highlighted the importance of intercultural connection and active student engagement.

International students of Ogarev Mordovia State University explored traditional Mordovian games like “Tyushtyan Nalksemat”, tried new activities, and fully immersed themselves in the spirit of народный sport and cultural exchange.

🤝 Special thanks to Pavel Migunov and the university’s Sports Sector for their incredible support in organizing this unforgettable day.

🔥Celebrating Linguistic Excellence and Cultural Dialogue!

🇷🇺 From March 23 to April 28, National Research Mordovia State University proudly hosted the International Olympiad
“Russian Language in the Interaction of Languages and Cultures”, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Dmitry Sergeyevich Likhachev.

📚 The Olympiad featured two exciting tracks:
🔹 Russian as a Foreign Language
🔹 Cultural Studies of the UK and the USA

🔝More than 110 international students from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, India, and China—studying in Moscow, Volgograd, and Saransk—took part in this inspiring academic journey.

💡 During the online stage, participants explored Likhachev’s profound thoughts, crafting essays based on his quotes about language and culture.

🔝 In the final stage, 11 finalists faced a real linguistic challenge: a comprehensive lexical-grammar test and a live discussion of the academician’s ideas.

👏 Participants demonstrated outstanding command of Russian and English, strong communication skills, deep cultural awareness, and excellent knowledge of both Russian classics and English-speaking realities.

🎓 Winning this Olympiad opens the door for international students to continue their studies in master’s programs on a fully funded basis.
