Important! Starting May 18th the contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine for foreign soldiers will allow termination of a contract by the soldier only after 6 months of service. The training days spent under the contract also count towards those 6 months.
All contracts signed before that, including the old contracts, will still allow termination without minimum service requirement.

¡Importante! Después del 18 de mayo del 2024, todos los contratos firmados con las Fuerzas Armadas de Ucrania para militares extranjeros tendrán la obligatoriedad de cumplimiento de un servicio mínimo de 6 meses. El tiempo de entrenamiento será parte de estos seis meses.

This is the story of the three Canadians who joined the 3rd Assault Brigade and got their baptism by fire with the brigade during the operation in Avdiivka. The brigade's task was to relieve Ukrainian defenders of the city and to allow them an organized retreat. The battle for Avdiivka was one of the largest operations of the 2024 campaign. It was fought against an opponent who massively outnumbered Ukrainian troops and had an artillery and air force advantage. But that never stopped the brave ones from rising up to the challenge.

Pervomaiske, nicknamed 'Pervo' by the legionnaires of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is located just a few kilometers from Donetsk itself - the heart of the Russian-occupied Donbas region. During the Ukrainian counteroffensive of the Summer of 2023, the spotlight was mostly on the Southern front. So the enemy wasn't expecting a daring assault in the East, right on the outskirts of one of their capitals. Even more surprising to them must have been to hear the English language.
This film is the first of our videos dedicated to the Chosen Company - then a reconnaissance company of the 59th Motorized Brigade. These fighters have been through hell and high water. Their experience, skill and bravery are second to none.

Four teams would assault, trying to push through in the village of Pervomaiske, just 10 kilometers away from Donetsk. This operation, nicknamed Pervo-2, would become their hardest and bloodiest battle.

War. War never changes. Or does it? Who could answer that question better than Andrew Scott, callsign 'Caesar' — an experienced British campaigner who had deployments in Northern Ireland, Iraq, Africa and now in Ukraine, serving as a mortarman of the mortar platoon in the 2nd battalion of the International Legion. At 57 he is a living example that age is just a number if your heart and mind are in the right place. They say 'larger than life' about people like him. We had an exciting conversation about wars, about experience, about culture and history and, of course, about how the old tricks can still play a role in a modern warfare.
