We promised we’d meet at the festival — and we did! On the sidelines of the International Festival of Youth, we brought InteRussia alumni together for a special reunion in Yekaterinburg.

⭕️ 33 fellows from 23 countries — from Albania and Algeria to Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.

⭕️ Six fellowship tracks — journalism, international relations, Russian studies, engineering, energy and medicine.

We caught up, shared news, heard what everyone has been up to since their fellowships and prepared a few small gifts to remember the occasion.

Seeing you all again was one of the highlights of the festival for our team! Thank you for finding the time to join us, for the warm conversations and for staying connected.

Last week, our fellows swapped their usual routine for a day at Gorky Film Studio — one of the most iconic names in Russian cinema history. They walked through soundstages where legendary films were born and got a rare look at how sets are built.

It's one thing to read about filmmaking, and another to stand in the middle of it. From prop rooms to production offices, the visit gave our fellows a real sense of how creative ideas turn into finished films — and a few great stories to tell ✨

From Workshops to Industrial Leaders: How the STEM Fellowship Is Going ✏️

On September 21, STEM fellows visited Astra Group — one of Russia's leading IT developers, best known for the Astra Linux operating system and other software solutions.

The company's ecosystem spans nearly every layer of the IT stack — from operating systems and virtualization to cybersecurity and enterprise tools. In recent years, Astra has shown strong growth, steadily expanding its product lineup and pursuing acquisitions, including AI development.

The fellows had a lecture on how Astra is structured, covering its product development process, internal operations, and company culture. Astra's team also shared insights from their own projects and answered questions about working in tech.

Visits like this give fellows a chance to see the industry up close — a real glimpse into what a day in the life of an engineer at a major tech company looks like 🔷

The InteRussia fellowship program for foreign specialists in STEM is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.
