What do you really know about Russia beyond Moscow and St. Petersburg? 💫

On September 15, InteRussia joined the International Festival of Youth in Yekaterinburg with a session organised in partnership with the Gorchakov Fund.

Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik International News Agency and Radio

He spoke about common perceptions of Russia’s regions — and how different they can be from everyday reality.

How do we move beyond them? By travelling, meeting people and experiencing places first-hand.

The conversation then turned to another way of building connections — joint projects.

⭕️ Natalya Alieva, Director for Partnership Projects Development and Regional Cooperation at the Presidential Grants Foundation, announced the launch of a new grant competition for international participants.

At one of the sessions of Club 1000 at the International Festival of Youth we presented the InteRussia fellowship programme and its opportunities for foreign specialists.

Liana Saakyants presented the InteRussia fellowship programme for foreign specialists, speaking about its formats, opportunities, and above all — about how the programme changes people’s lives.

33 alumni. 23 countries. One InteRussia reunion!

We promised we’d meet at the festival — and we did! On the sidelines of the International Festival of Youth, we brought InteRussia alumni together for a special reunion in Yekaterinburg.

⭕️ 33 fellows from 23 countries — from Albania and Algeria to Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.

⭕️ Six fellowship tracks — journalism, international relations, Russian studies, engineering, energy and medicine.

We caught up, shared news, heard what everyone has been up to since their fellowships and prepared a few small gifts to remember the occasion.

Seeing you all again was one of the highlights of the festival for our team! Thank you for finding the time to join us, for the warm conversations and for staying connected.
