InteRussia Launches Fellowship for South Asian Journalists 🎥

The Gorchakov Fund hosted the official opening of the InteRussia fellowship in journalism for professionals from South Asia.

The fellows were welcomed by:

🐚Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik;
🐚Daria Pripachkina, Deputy Head of Department at the Presidential Grants Foundation;
🐚Lyana Dymova, Academic Programs Coordinator at the Gorchakov Fund.

“Journalism is not just a profession — it is, in many ways, a key instrument in shaping public consciousness in any country. We are glad that the fellowship program has become an effective platform for cooperation with journalists from different countries and regions,” — said Lyana Dymova.

This time, the fellowship brings together journalists from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Bhutan.

The InteRussia fellowship in journalism for South Asia countries is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund and the Sputnik International News Agency and Radio Broadcast Service with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.

What happens when the conversation gets real? 🌎

Our international relations and oriental studies fellows met with

🔵Feodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of "Russia in Global Affairs" journal, Chairman of the Presidium of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, and
🔵Dmitri Trenin, Academic Supervisor of the Institute of World Military Economy and Strategy at HSE University, RIAC President.

It quickly became clear that this was not about listening quietly in the back row, but about stepping into a space where arguments matter more than agreement.

At the center of the discussion:

🔹a world and global institutions no longer held together by familiar rules;
🔹what remains of liberalism and what is taking shape in its place;
🔹how Russia interprets and acts within today’s international system;
🔹strategic stability in a time when predictability is no longer guaranteed.

No simplified narratives. No final conclusions. Just an honest attempt to make sense of the ability to think in uncertainty — and speak within it.

Where the energy agenda is shaped — let’s take a closer look 🌞

On April 2–3, Kazan hosted Energoprom, one of the key industry forums in Russia’s power sector — and this year, our fellows were right at the center of it.

So what did they actually do there?

🤩Explored the exhibition space — and even had the chance to personally greet Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Sergey Tsivilev, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation.

🤩Joined the plenary session to discuss the future of the electric power industry, technological sovereignty, and global energy transitions.

🤩Took the floor at the Council of Rectors meeting, where our fellows Joan Nwafor, Founder of CyberOdan, shared Nigeria’s experience in education and workforce development in the energy sector.

🤩Met with Roman Marshavin, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, to talk about international cooperation and professional pathways in the field.
