🧑🏼‍💻👩🏽‍💻Applied Mathematics and Physics (Institute of Laser and Plasma Technologies). The program is aimed at training expert physicists who are able to carry out fundamental and practical research, discover new laws of nature, build models of complex physical, technical and engineering systems, as well as identify new areas of study in the field of applied physics and technological processes. The curriculum covers subjects in basic theoretical physics, specialized courses and workshops.

⚛️ Nuclear Physics and Technology (Institute of Nuclear Physics and Technology). The program is aimed at training professionals in the field of physics and thermodynamics for the implementation of design, production, technological, research and management activities during the development and operation of advanced nuclear power plants. Graduates of this program are successfully employed in enterprises and institutions of high-tech industrial sectors.

🌏 Radioecology and radiation protection (Institute of Nuclear Physics and Technology). Possible areas of professional activity of graduates include the management of administrative services for radiation and environmental safety, the organization of radiological control at nuclear power plants and other facilities of the nuclear industry and the nuclear fuel cycle, as well as work in organizations for radiation protection and radiation and environmental safety at enterprises of various industries, including the oil and gas complex, mining industry and construction.

🧑🏻‍⚕️👩🏾‍⚕️ Biomedical Technologies (Institute of Physics and Technology of Biomedicine). The program is aimed at training qualified medical specialists capable of performing medical, organizational, administrative and research work in the field of healthcare. Graduates have the competencies to provide medical care and treatment for acute diseases, exacerbation of chronic diseases, emergency conditions, ensure the rehabilitation process, develop and apply new treatment methods.

🤖Artificial Intelligence (Institute of Intelligent Cybernetic Systems). The new promising direction will teach students modern development methods and technologies in this area. It includes programming, machine learning, statistics, and probability theory. Graduates will be able to work in IT, research organizations, government agencies and commercial companies. These are specialists in data analysis, software development, machine learning, etc.

🙌🏼 The Moscow campus complex includes 57 buildings on an area of 19 hectares. The total area of the educational and laboratory buildings is more than 96,000 m2. The University has a unique laboratory base, including a research nuclear reactor, a basin-type neutrino water detector, charged particle accelerators, an analytical laboratory and more than 100 educational and research laboratories.

📚There are also classrooms, computer labs, a library, canteens, gyms and much more. All buildings are interconnected, which makes it very easy to move around the territory.

🔬The MEPhI campus is one of the largest and most equipped educational institutions in Russia. It offers students all the conditions for obtaining high-quality education and developing their professional skills.

🌲The MEPhI campus is green and well maintained. There are many places to relax, canteens, cafes and coffee shops, as well as sports grounds for various sports. By the way, the Moscow campus is adjacent to one of the largest parks in the capital – the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. It is from there that squirrels often run into the university grounds – there is always something delicious for them in the feeders on the tall fir trees 🐿️

I’m currently studying Experimental nuclear physics under the department of Nuclear Physics and Technology at MEPhI.
I chose MEPhI for its renowned reputation in nuclear field and engineering and because of long history of excellence of this area. And again, we get to have opportunity to learn from experts. Of course I was attracted by the location of the university - it is a huge city of Moscow 🌇

📚Yes, it is difficult to study especially in Russia because we get to use another language. You have to learn Russian language which is hard at some point to international students. Despite the challenges, I find the study material engaging and rewarding.

🫶What I love the most about living in Russia or studying in Russia is the system of education and also about the rich cultural experience and opportunity to immerse in a new environment here in Russia which made me especially choose it.

😊 Living in Russia, as my first experience living far away from my family, I appreciate the rich cultural experiences and the opportunity to immerse in a new environment.

MEPhI is not only a science, but also an active student life! 🕺

At the entrance to the National Research Nuclear University, one immediately catches the eye of the huge panels of cement and smalt mosaic located on both sides of the lobby, which have become symbols of MEPhI: "Atomic Mustang" and "Fundamental Physics" 😅

😅 The authors of these panels are abstract artists G.A.Dauman and M.M. Schwartzman. It was completed in 1963 😅

😅And since 2010, the relief "Atomic Mustang", embodying the conquest of atomic energy by mankind, has also become the logo of the MEPhI National Research Institute.

😄 The relief depicts a hand holding the reins of an atomic horse, and below is a string of formulas from nuclear physics.
University professors believe that a horse, or rather, a wild mustang, symbolizes nature, and the hand that threw the bridle is the person who restrained it.

😀The symbolism of the horse is associated with the power and strength of the atom, which is of particular importance for nuclear physics and nuclear energy. In these areas, the horse symbolizes the ability of the atom to release a huge amount of energy, which can be used for peaceful purposes for humanity😀

On March 27, a delegation from the Brazilian Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research IPEN visited MEPhI ⚛️

😅The IPEN Institute (Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares) is a Brazilian research institute located in the city of Santos, Sao Paulo State. The Institute was founded in 1956 to conduct research in the field of nuclear and energy science.

😆 The main research areas of the IPEN Institute include: nuclear physics, energy, nuclear technology, radiation protection, laser physics and radiation processes. The Institute is also engaged in the development of new materials and technologies for use in energy systems, nuclear industry and other industries.

🤝The Brazilian delegation included Niklaus Ursus Vetter, Director of Research at IPEN, Isolda Costa, Director of Internationalization, and Romula De Castro, Chief Legal Adviser to Souza Lima.

😅😄 The meeting with the Brazilian delegation was attended by the rector of the MEPhI National Research University Vladimir Shevchenko, Vice Rector Dmitry Savkin, Director for the development of isotope business in Latin America of JSC V\O Isotope (enterprise of the Rosatom State Corporation) Alexey Kibalov and other representatives of the university.

📝 During the visit, representatives of the NRU MEPhI and IPEN re-signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed for the first time in 2019.

👩🏼‍🎓🧑🏾‍🎓The meeting also discussed the launch of a joint educational program (2 diplomas) in the Nuclear science specialty.

🧑🏻‍🔬👩🏼‍🔬The guests got acquainted with the NRU MEPhI and visited some laboratories of the university, including the Nanocenter.

💙 The good relations between MEPhI and Brazil have become a good tradition, and we hope that soon we will meet not only delegations, but also students from Brazil

👉🏼 Today we will tell you about one of the most important places for MEPhI students - student dormitories!

👩🏻‍🎓🧑🏾‍🎓All international students have the opportunity to live in dormitories on preferential terms: the cost per month starts from 1,500 rubles and does not rise above 5,000 rubles, depending on housing conditions.

🏢 MEPhI dormitories are residential complexes that offer comfortable accommodation for students while studying at the university. Buildings are located near the main campus and provide various types of accommodation:
👉🏼 Bachelors and students of the preparatory course live in 2 and 3 bed rooms with shared bathrooms
👉🏼 Undergraduates and postgraduates can stay in apartment-type dormitories for 2 or 3 people in a room with its own kitchens and bathrooms

🛏️ The dormitories have everything you need for a comfortable stay: study rooms, kitchens, laundries, and, of course, furniture and household appliances. Some buildings have free gyms! All the buildings of the dormitories are in good condition after major repairs.

💁🏻‍♀️It is very important that the dorm department has a wonderful staff who is always ready to help students with solving all their problems! These are the guards, the commandants, the staff of the housing complex, and of course the director of the dormitories!
