Education Ministry, Serhiy Prytula Humanitarian Foundation sign cooperation memorandum

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Charitable Organization "Serhiy Prytula Humanitarian Foundation" signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation to support the education system under martial law, overcome the consequences of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and implement joint initiatives.

"Today, education is part of our resilience and future. We face specific challenges every day that require quick solutions. Ukraine plans to launch railway route to Varna in Bulgaria early June – dpty PM

Ukraine plans to launch a railway route from Kyiv to Varna (Bulgaria) in early June, which will run through Lviv, Chernivtsi, Suceava, and Bucharest, announced Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Community Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

According to his post on Telegram on Monday, the Romanian and Bulgarian sides have preliminarily agreed on the possibility of including the relevant route in the PSO (state procurement) mechanism, which would potentially reduce ticket prices, but negotiations on this issue are still ongoing.

China officially opens market to Ukrainian wheat flour

Ukraine and China signed an intergovernmental agreement officially opening the market of the People’s Republic of China for the export of Ukrainian wheat flour, Serhiy Tkachuk, head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (Service), reported on Facebook.

According to the head of the agency, the corresponding Protocol on inspection, phytosanitary, and sanitary requirements was signed with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Ukraine, Ma Shengkun. The document was signed between the Service and the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China.

Businesses urging govt to abandon reorganization of State Service of Geology and Subsoil Resources due to risks to investment climate and budget

Member companies of the European Business Association are concerned about potential plans to reorganise the State Service of Geology and Subsoil Resources of Ukraine. According to business information, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture is considering a decision to establish a State Agency for Natural Resources Management, transferring to it the powers of the current service, EBA has reported.

As the association notes, representatives of subsoil users believe that transferring the powers of the current service to a new body could negatively impact the stability of the extractive industry and lead to the suspension of the issuance and renewal of special permits for subsoil use.

SBU, Defense Forces hit oil terminal at Novorossiysk port

Drones operated by the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center, together with other elements of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, struck Sheskharis oil terminal at the seaport of Novorossiysk in Russia’s Krasnodar territory, an SBU source told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

"As a result of the strike, six of the seven oil loading berths used to load and unload oil from tankers were damaged," the agency’s source said.

SAPO suspects serving MP of illicit enrichment worth over UAH 12.7 mln

Ukraine’s Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) has served a notice of suspicion on a member of Ukraine’s ninth-convocation parliament over alleged illicit enrichment of more than UAH 12.7 million.

"The MP acquired assets in 2020-2021 whose value exceeded his lawful income by UAH 12.7 million. These include: an apartment in central Kyiv with an area of 132.6 square meters worth UAH 5.632 million; high-end renovation and furnishing of the apartment worth UAH 5.656 million; a cottage and a land plot in the resort village of Koblevo with a total value of UAH 1.694 million," SAPO said on Telegram.

DTEK Energy engineers manufacture shearer for Heroes of Space mine

DTEK Energy's mechanical engineers have manufactured a new UKD200-500 shearer, which was delivered to the Heroes of Space mine, the Corum Group mechanical engineering company announced on Facebook.

According to the company, the combine weighs 15 tonnes, has 250 kW of power per cutting unit, and has a productivity of up to 360 tonnes per hour and a feed speed of up to 6 meters per minute.

One killed, five injured, incl child, in Russian shelling of Sloviansk – authorities

At least one person was killed and five others were injured, including a child, in Russian shelling of the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk Regional Military Administration head Vadym Filashkin has said.

"At least one killed and five injured – these are the consequences of today's shelling of Sloviansk. Among the injured is a boy born in 2017. According to preliminary information, the Russians shelled the city with MLRS, hitting a residential area – numerous houses were damaged," he said on Telegram.

E-commerce VAT bill limits PEP status to three years, tightens rules for state banks

Bill No. 15112-1 on VAT on e-commerce transactions, which proposes scrapping the VAT exemption for international postal items worth up to EUR 150, also provides for ending lifetime politically exposed person (PEP) status for officials of international organizations by limiting it to three years after they leave office.

The relevant provisions are contained in the comparative table to bill No. 15112-1, which the specialized committee recommended for first reading on Monday, April 6.

Six homes destroyed, 66 damaged in Odesa district after Russian air attack – authorities

Six residential buildings, including one apartment block, were destroyed and another 66 were damaged in Kyivsky district of Odesa as a result of a Russian overnight air attack, Head of Odesa City Military Administration Serhiy Lysak has said.

"In total, 66 residential buildings were damaged, including 14 apartment blocks and 52 private houses. Visual inspection confirmed the destruction of six buildings, one of them a multi-storey residential building. A total of 1,059 windows were shattered, along with 11 doors and eight roofs damaged. Utility services promptly boarded up 617 broken windows, while owners declined boarding for another 81. So far, 66 cubic meters of construction debris have been removed," he said on Telegram.

Govt speeds upgrades of Ukrainian aircraft, helicopters for air defense – Svyrydenko

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved a decision allowing faster retrofitting of aircraft and helicopters with weapons and other equipment for combating air targets, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said.

"The government has approved a decision that allows aircraft and helicopters to be upgraded more quickly for the needs of modern warfare. It is now possible to install weapons, communications, navigation and target detection systems without lengthy approvals. The entire process will be shortened to one month," she said on Telegram.

Ukraine reduces electricity imports by 25% in March, resumes exports – DIXI Group

In March, Ukraine reduced its electricity imports by 25% compared to the previous month, to 942,100 MWh, the DIXI Group analytical center reported, citing Energy Map data.

At the same time, electricity exports, which were last carried out on November 10, 2025, have been restored; their volumes last month amounted to 30,200 MWh.

Ten injured, incl children, in Russian shelling of Nikopol – service

Ten people, including children, were injured in the city of Nikopol, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has said.

"Ten people were injured in Nikopol, including an 18-month-old girl and a 17-year-old boy. Rescuers evacuated the victims from the danger zone and took them to hospital. Apartment buildings and private homes, a pharmacy and vehicles were damaged," the service said on Telegram.

State Property Fund appoints new supervisory board for Ukrainian Distribution Networks

The Ministry of Energy, which acts as the general meeting of shareholders of JSC Ukrainian Distribution Networks, has appointed a new supervisory board to replace the previous one, which was dismissed in December 2025, according to a company announcement in the SMIDA information disclosure system.

DOT simplifies vehicle procurement for Defense Forces – Svyrydenko

The State Rear Operator (DOT) will simplify the procurement of pickup trucks and other vehicles for the military using decentralized budgets, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said.

"The government has granted DOT the status of a centralized procurement organization. This means the agency will work directly with suppliers, set the requirements and verify them. The decision will make it easier to procure pickup trucks needed by units, as well as motorcycles, quad bikes and buggies. All of this will be available in ProZorro Market," Svyrydenko said on Telegram.

Bill on taxation of digital platforms won’t affect real estate rentals through OLX

The leasing of real estate is classified as a reportable activity under Bill No. 15111, but the proposed regulation does not apply to OLX in this category, OLX's press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

The company explained that an important characteristic of reporting activity is the provision of the service online or physically (offline) after it is provided through the platform. In accordance with subparagraph 14.1.286.1 of the bill, the term "platform" does not include software that, without any further intervention in the implementation of reporting activities, solely provides information about reporting activities or their advertising to users.
