How can we group ideas for main bodies ?
Great question! It’s called paragraphing, and there are various ways candidates can approach it. However, it’s important to follow a key rule: no matter how you organize your sentences, there must be clear logic behind it. For example, you could split paragraphs based on trends (upward vs downward) or by grouping large categories separately from smaller ones. Whichever method you choose, make sure the examiner can easily understand the reasoning behind it.

Ассалому алейкум, янги айлтс инстракторларга таск 1 ди кандай килиб тушунтиришни маслахат берасиз, кандай китоблардан фойдаланиш керак?
“Ielts advantage writing skills” is a great book. Inexperienced instructors should avoid covering advanced concepts. They should stick to the basics and help students get better at recognising the patterns, making comparisons and using the appropriate language. Task 1 is a very specific task, so it is easy to get confused.

assalomu alaykum
I’ve took ielts 19th october and I’ve only focused on task2, i think it was good enough, but for task1, I only write intro, overall and 1 body, word count was not enough in my opinion, what do you think about its importance
Task 1 is harder to complete in 20min than Task 2 in 40min. So, you shouldn’t neglect practicing task 1. Also, failing to complete the task with all body paragraphs is going to affect your score. You will lose marks for TA. The same with the word count. It does matter.

Is better to write reports 150-180words summarizing information or 200+ detailed?
For the vast majority of candidates and most of the tasks, the optimal range is 150-180. Sometimes slightly above that, maybe 200. But, you are going to make things much harder for yourself if you commit to a 200+ word report.

How to start learning Task 1? Should we just watch videos and learn vocabulary, or just coping samples?
If there is no one to teach you the basics, watching videos can be a great way to start. Though it can be overwhelming, as there is a lot to learn. Most samples you find are too hard for beginners, so you should use books at the level you feel comfortable.

What is the main difference between a candidate having 6.7 and 8,9 in CC
1) paragraphing
2) cohesive devices
3) topic sentences
4) wordiness/redundancy issues
5) reference (pronouns, synonyms, conjunctions, which, both, each, respectively etc.)

Assalomu aleykum.
Question about task 1:
My overview and main body paragraphs contrubute to my TA score right? If so, can I get a 7 in TA with an excellent overview without body paragraphs?
You are clearly heading in the wrong direction. Don’t look for easy ways. It is much easier to actually learn to write good reports rather than waste time thinking about nonsense. But, anyway, to answer your question I would just say you could technically get a 6.5 or even 7.0 without the details. The examiners dont score separately based on your paragraphs. Besides, I don’t think you can fully demonstrate your skills with the overview alone.

Assalomu alaykum, many teachers told me that comparison is important in improving CC score, yet I do not know how to compare outcomes skillfully and accurately. What should I do?
Making comparisons is a part of the task description, so it has more to do with TA. Anyway, making comparisons can be tricky, but there are certain things you can keep doing consistently. Make sure include at least these:
1) Contrast:
Big numbers vs small numbers
2) Similar trends
3) Peak numbers
4) the beginning vs the end points
*5) any interesting patterns
The last point can be tricky and risky. If you are already familiar with these, just polish your language until you get better at it.

How to select key features ?
A great question, but I don’t have an easy answer to that. I am sorry, but you have to go through tons of samples over and over to get the gist of what’s expected of you at each level. I am pretty sure you are already familiar with the basics like big numbers, small numbers, changes, anything that remained unchanged etc. The sure way to improve is through reading. Read samples. If you run out of good samples, reread them all.

Hey bro. Assalomu alaykum. I got 7 in Task 1 twice. My breakdown was also four 7s in a row. What would you recommend doing to raise my Task 1 score to overall 8 in terms of LR, GRA, CC and TA?
When I was in the same spot, what I did was I studied Pauline Cullen’s book - key to ielts writing task 1. It is the holy grail of Task 1. This book alone is enough to get you further through 7.5-8.0, given that you CAN stay committed to it. It’s a dense book, with lots of info. It can be overwhelming for a new reader, so you might have to read it a few times.

Can AI check our reports effectively?
It’s been said before. No, AI is currently incapable of analysing ielts task 1 data, at least not fully. You can get a more or less clear overall picture of the graph, but it can’t help with more advanced analysis/writing.

I believe that analyzing Task 1 reports is the only way to improve my Task 1 score. Whose reports would you recommend analyzing specifically? Or are there other resources available for this purpose?
I am not familiar with other instructors writing style/skills, I guess anyone with 8.0+ Wr can produce a decent report that you can learn from. Pauline Cullene is perfect once you are at 7.5+.

In task 1, candidates are required to select key features.
However, in map and process tasks, there seems to be confusion. Are we supposed to cover every single detail when it comes to these tasks?
Oftentimes you indeed realise that these two types offer you the key features only. The nature of these tasks makes you report almost every single detail. So, yeah I guess.

What is full development in Task 1? Is it giving more information in detail, with more small key features? How do we neatly summarise all the info at this point? Because of this confusion, i tend to write 240-250+ words, which as you said, is very bad
More key features in the body paragraphs. The things other candidate miss. This is the last thing I improved in my writing when analyzing Pauline’s samples. She seems to spot some interesting features I couldn’t find before. I can’t explain and describe these features. They are different each time. It depends on the nature of the graph. Don’t think too much about the word count itself. Focus on what seems to be important in the graph.
Here is a key rule to keep in mind. The examiner must be able to draw the graph/chart/map/diagram based on the report you provided. It doesn’t have to be identical, but it certainly can’t be inaccurate. If you keep getting 8.0s, you have probably been missing some important points.

What should we do if task 1 itself is small and we can't write at least 150words
The test makers don’t do stuff like this. Even the driest graphs can be reported at around 150 words. The vast majority of tasks I have seen came easily go beyond 180+ and even 200+. If you can’t make it past 150, you are probably missing something.

Assalomu aleykum, task 1da paragraphga ajratayoyganimizda increase/decrease yoki bigger/smaller qilganimizdan Ko'ra antiqaroq yo'lda yozish kerakmi kattariq bal olish uchun, masalan renewable/non-renewable yoki public/individual transport qilib
Vaziyatga qarab endi bu - xar doim ham unaqa patternlar berilmaydi. Lekin kopincha rasvo qilishadi “candidate”la boshqacha yozaman deb. Traditional approach tinch 7.0-7.5gacha.
