US being hit by huge cyber attacks, Microsoft warns

Hundreds of companies and organisations are being hit by a wave of cyber attacks, Microsoft has warned.

The hacking appears to be being perpetrated by the same group as led last year’s massive SolarWinds cyber attack, it said.

This time around, the attacks were looking to target “resellers and other technology service providers” of cloud services, Microsoft wrote in a new blog post.

It has notified 609 different companies that they have been targeted by the attacks over the summer, the company said. Only a small number of those had actually been successful.

US officials confirmed to the New York Times that the operation was underway, with one unnamed senior administration official calling it “unsophisticated, run-of-the mill operations that could have been prevented if the cloud service providers had implemented baseline cybersecurity practices.”

“This recent activity is another indicator that Russia [IAF: it never gets old!] is trying to gain long-term, systematic access to a variety of points in the technology supply chain and establish a mechanism for surveilling — now or in the future — targets of interest to the Russian government,” Microsoft wrote.

Azure Standard (one of larger bulk food services) hit by automated (BOT) attack on their site, causing delays to delivery:

Their site is still struggling, so I can’t link the press release. Delivery dates have been pushed back by 1 week in most cases, up to 2 weeks.

It is noteworthy that now Auguson Farms and Azure Standared are now affected by supply chain difficulties and cyberattacks.

Ukraine: Government websites down after “huge cyberattack”

The websites contained a message in Ukrainian, Russian and Polish, saying that Ukrainians' personal data has been leaked into the public domain. “Be afraid and expect the worst. This is for your past, present and future," the message read, in part.

The country's minister for digital transformation [!], Mykhailo Fedorov, insisted that personal data was safe, since “the operability of the websites, not the registries,” was affected by the hack. Fedorov said that some of the attacked websites were blocked by their administrators in order to contain the damage and investigate the attacks.

Officials warn US Water supply “absolutely vulnerable” to cyberattacks.

Amazing how all our infrastructure is “suddenly” so vulnerable! #Cyberpandemic

____

Cyber defenses for US drinking water supplies are "absolutely inadequate" and vulnerable to large-scale disruption by hackers, a senior official said Thursday.
"There's inadequate resilience to even a criminal sector," the official said. "The threshold of resilience is not what it needs to be."
President Joe Biden has attempted to address infrastructure cybersecurity but is limited by the fact that the vast majority of services are provided by private, not government, companies.

(But
given the right crisis I’m sure the feds could take control..!)

Ukraine defense ministry reports cyberattack — ATMs are NOT down — #Cyberpandemic

Multiple Ukrainian government websites and banking systems were inaccessible to users Tuesday afternoon. But so far it remains unclear who was behind the disruption, and the overall intent.

The outage, which impacted the website of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the Armed Services as well as two large Ukrainian banks, Privatbank and Oschadbank, was the result of a digital denial of service attack, according to multiple Ukrainian government agencies.

The reports quickly generated concern, especially given ongoing U.S. government warnings that Russia might launch a massive cyberattack impacting critical infrastructure in Ukraine, such as communications or banking, prior to an invasion. #FalseFlag

Anonymous “Cyberattacks” Nestlé, world’s biggest food company, leaking 10GB of internal data including emails, account passwords, and client data in “retaliation” for the Swiss company’s continuing limited operations in Russia.

Nevermind 'anonymous' this is a message from the WEF technocrats to big companies: “if you don't play by our rules, we will roast you.”

The hack comes a few days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called out Nestle for its continued relationship with Russia.

"'Good food. Good life.' This is the slogan of Nestlé. Your company that refuses to leave Russia," Zelensky said Saturday. "Even now — when there are threats from Russia to other European countries. Not only to us. When there is even nuclear blackmail from Russia."

Nestle later defended its decision not to pull out of Russia, noting that it made sweeping changes since President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"We have significantly scaled back out activities in Russia: we have stopped all imports and exports from Russia, except for essential products," a spokesperson said in a statement to CNN.

BREAKING: FBI warns farmers that hackers are launching cyberattacks on food supply (even as people catch on to explosions at food processors)

Video report forthcoming. - @iceagefarmer

___
“The FBI is warning farmers of potential hackers targeting the ag industry.

The agency said cyber-criminals might be more likely to go after farmers during the planting and harvesting seasons.

Six grain companies were targeted last fall, and two others have already been attacked this year, authorities said.

A major disruption of grain production would impact the entire food chain, something criminals take advantage of when trying to extort growers.

War on Food Goes Hot: FBI warns cyberattacks on farms -- One farm stands up

The food wars have gone hot -- and even the mainstream is noticing. Even as the fires and explosions destroying our food supply are broadly reported, the FBI warns of cyberattacks on farming infrastructure. As this awareness grows, one farm has stood up to NY state, refusing to comply with Bird Flu orders. Christian breaks it down in this Ice Age Farmer broadcast.

Hacker jailbreaks John Deere tractor, plays game of Doom

@iceagefarmer comment: The push for “Precision agriculture” and AgTech have sought to afford perfect data to the eye in the sky, at the expense of turning our most important machines — the ones responsible for growing food into cyberattack-vulnerable computers in the field.
